Should I keep playing a champion if I suck at it?

I have been playing Nidalee for a few weeks now, and got some practice with her. I did A LOT of customs where I just do first wave clear to practice clearing entire jungle fast and not dying to red buff (xD!). I did a bunch of normals as well. But when it comes to ranked.... I am terrible on her. I have won 3 games and lost 16 on her. I am bad at Nidalee. I know she is a high-skill champion but she is really fun to play.

Meanwhile, I'm doing good on Sejuani and Zac. I have won 8 out of 9 games with her and with Zac 10 out of 17. These champs are easy and I do good on them. But they are SO BORING! So here's the question: Should I keep trying to play a champion I suck at and attempt to get better, even though I have practiced her alot already and maybe get good with her, or should I play freelo champs like Sej and Zac? And a broader question: If you like a certain role best, but perform worst at it, should you still play it instead of playing the role where you are good at but is a bit boring?

It really depends on what you want. If your goal is to win games, then by all means play as zac and Sej, But if you play for fun, practice more with Nidalee. SS Champs, can be so fun and rewarding. You just feel so awesome when you land that SS sometimes lol.

I believe you should not play ranked with any champion until you know the ins and outs of that champion. If you are unsure about your abilities, then you should just keep practicing. It took me about 1 month to actually get fairly good at Yasuo, and now that i have learned him i know i can play him well as well as knowing i can carry. Keep that mentality and just keep practicing man!

Personally, i would say no. I liked nami quite a bit, so i decided to get mastery 5 on her. By the time i finally got lvl 5, i almost felt like quitting league. My skill level was below average on her and I was just terrible at support. But, that's just me playing a champ I'm bad at as well as a role I'm terrible at, as opposed to just playing a single champ I'm bad at. It's pretty much up to you if you wanna keep spending time getting better.

Play the champions you are good with in ranked if you want to climb.

Play the champions you enjoy in normal games to practice and improve with them.

This is probably an unintentional omission, but it kinda seems like you went from customs to ranked with Nidalee. How do you perform with her in normals? Seems like a good way to practice. I don't personally play Nidalee, but she seems like a high-risk/high-reward type of champ. Play some normals and go for ballsy, risky plays. If they work, great. If you throw the game, meh, it wasn't ranked.

i wont suggest u to stop playing but in ranked people usually play with champions they are best with in everyone role so play the champs which you fell perfect in ranked . And in the mean while train and improve your skill in the champion which u well... suck at .I hope this respond helps :)

Zac is boring? What are you doing wrong?

Privileged Jew9/14/2016, 2:09:25 PM1 votes

Depends. Do you want to win? Are you willing to play with the sole intention of identifying your mistakes in previous games and taking steps to ensure they don't happen again?

If you said 'yes' to both, then do just that. Eventually you will be competent enough to take that champ into ranked and earn LP.

If you like the play style of the champ just you just can't properly execute it, keep spamming her in normals and eventually you'll get better. Dont bring any champ you do t have level 4 on into ranked

If you want to learn some Nidalee, feel free to add me. I'm a D5 nid main that loves to teach people :D.

Keep trying. I've transformed into an adc main from support and Jg. There was a lot of feeding, missed cs, and stupid plays but I'm decent now.
