I Don't Get Riven

Just played Kayn jungle into a Riven jungle. Our bot lane fed like crazy and we'd have probably lost anyway, only bright spot was a Swain. But it felt like Riven could curb stomp me every single time we fought. I don't understand what I was supposed to do to stand a chance in that match. I'm asking for any serious advice on how to play against her (specifically as Kayn or in general as I'm sure I'll see more of Riven top and jg if she's strong). Unfortunately I don't actually expect help here, I expect a lot of "git gud" and flaming. But I'm frustrated enough to see where this goes.

Kayn is either a disruptor/fighter or assassin. One shotting Riven is rough, as she builds some health, has a shield, and enough stuns that if you don't instagib her, you will lose. And the nature of her manaless, low cooldown, hypermobile, high dmg, cc rich kit means being a disruptor doesn't do you much good either.

Don't fight her unless fed. You have plenty of mobility to do so. Just kill their adc or midlaner.

A fed Riven is one of the most unbalancing champions in the entire game. Yes, she can absolutely stun you at will, tower dive, triple-attack endlessly, etc. etc. etc. It's a lot like Darius. As soon as they're past a certain level of advancement beyond you, there is more or less nothing you can do against them at all, other than call for the entire team to gank them.

I never complained about this because I had Swain, who was my own version of being unfair to fighter-types in his very own special way, and required just as many teamganks if he got scary.

But the fighters did complain about my Swain, and now he's gone, so maybe I'll have to start returning the favor.

hey man, i play alot of riven and she definitely stomps kayn early, you need to go darkin and not fall behind before that. once you get to that stage you can duel her to an extent, and be very effective in teamfights. you gotta remember tho there are different types of champions in LOL. riven is very good at dueling, one of the best. 1v1ing her isnt the best idea if shes on par with the game or ahead.
