Where did smart ping ideas from 2015 redpost go?

I remember a redpost from somewhere in the end of 2015 of Riot talking about some new pings to be added to already existing smart ping system.

Where did that idea go? I remember they talked about "Place a ward" ping and something else... Is it still being worked on? Either way, why didn't we hear anything about those ideas being abandoned or mentioned anywhere?
