Yo! A fellow support main here. So one big thing is just
with it. I
tee it will get better after you hit 30. Then you get to play with people who make dumb champion puns like me!
Anyways a bit more serious now because this is a topic I feel pretty strongly about and want to help you with. League is pretty bad pre lv 30 simply because of the mix of new players like you, Smurfs trying to level up their accounts and not wanting to deal with new players, and Bots fucking up games. Just suck it up and push on through to lv 30. I recommend that if you find someone who is nice and you enjoy playing with send them a friend invite at the end of game screen. Try to play with people like that whenever they are on.
Another thing is to remain positive. This is something I personally am exceptionally good at and don't have much trouble with so I am not the best at giving advice on it. Just don't let people get you down really. Think about it logically. If I call you a butt (You are a butt) you aren't going to get upset right? I am jsut some random dude making dumb posts on the internet. I don't (or at least shouldn't) matter to you. Keep that mentality. Also remember that the best way to deal with upset people is to just be positive towards them. They generally don't know how to handle it so they quiet down.
A good trick is that if they are yelling at you for being bad then ask them what you could do better next time. If they don't have a good reason then they will most likely make up some clearly stupid answer and you can just laugh it off (not in chat though)
In a situation where someone is really bad just press tab and hit the mute button by their name.
#On to le support shit!
Now supporting pre lv 30 is pretty tough. A big part of this is because warding is a lot of the power that a support brings to a team but pre lv 30 players don't know how to use vision well but will still blame you if they get ganked and didn't have wards. This means you have to be putting in the same amount of work and getting less in return. My recommendation is to ward a few crucial areas. Put a pink in your tribush/the bush behind your turret depending on which side of the bot lane you are on. Have a ward in river bush and a ward either in the dragon pit or in the bush between the mid lane bush and dragon pit. (the small clump just sitting in the river)
This means that your bot side looks all pretty and lit up while not having to go far to ward. The pink in the safer bush means that you don't have to replace it as much either. As you rank up and people start to actually use vision this does change but I don't think we need to cover that shit here.
Now I don't know what type of support you like to play and you can fully play whatever you want. However for newer players in pre 30 - lower elo Tank supports and a few specific ones like Morgana (shudder) are exceptionally good. Tell me what supports you currently like to play the msot and I will give you some recommendations.
Also, for the most part always build the support items that combines the sightstone and your starting item. It is more gold and combat efficient for new players who are still learning to use actives. Stay away from items like
and
The Unique passives on both of these are very tricky to use and I really wouldn't get them. Zekes takes knowledge on the part of both you and your teammate. Mikaels is basically a 0 stat item that requires a mixture of good reactions, good predictions, and good game knowledge. I would shy away from it until you are well used to League.
In general go for the less supporty items at the point where you are. A Janna with
and
is honestly going to do more than one with
and
So tell me some champs you like playing and any questions you might have. I don't have huge amounts of time tonight but I should be able to get in at least on more reply tonight.
