Syndra Transcendent (Passive) idea
Hello! I am here on the boards to discuss some changes that were short-lived on the PBE a little while ago. While I do agree with Riot that the changes could've suited Syndra a bit better than what was reflected, I would like to propose my own ideas here, and I hope that it at least sparks an idea for Riot. (NOTE: If there are multiple notes for an ability, it does not mean that I want both, it simply means one or the other, or some sort of happy medium.)
Q: Current Passive - 15% additional dmg to champions. My ideas are simple here:
- Change the number to 20%. This would put a larger, more meaningful mid-game power spike, without being insanely strong.
- Change the passive so that the 15% additional dmg applies to ALL damage dealt by Q. This would help Syndra with her wave clear, without making damage against her opponents over the roof.
W: Current Passive - Increase slow by 0.5 Seconds. What my logic here is that the .5 second slow increase, while nice, doesn't feel very rewarding. a couple ideas of mine are very small, but meaningful buffs:
- Increase the Slow Duration from 2.0 seconds to 2.25-2.5 seconds. Therefore, this slow feels more meaningful in most, if not, all situations.
- Increase the Slow Amount slightly. Not drastically, but make the enemy a little bit more afraid of the minion Syndra just picked up.
E: Current Passive - Increase width of spell by 50%. I have several opinions here.
- Increase width of spell by 100%. This was one of the buffs that was pulled, however, I personally think it worked. I don't know the reasoning behind why it was pulled, but I'm sure it was pulled for a good reason, so I'll leave you with my other opinions.
- Increase the range of the spell. A part of me feels a little underwhelmed with merely a width increase, because it feels like, to me at least, that the spell should almost grow proportionally. Having a larger width doesn't really help to land a stun, which is what I think most Syndra players can agree is what her E is most used for anyways.
- Increase the duration of the stun by 0.5 seconds (or however long feels appropriate). Now, let me explain myself here. I love playing Syndra. The only position I've yet to play her is in the position of adc (and I don't think that is going to happen any time soon). One of the positions I especially love to play her is support, because of all the utility she offers in a unique way compared to everyone else. And as a support, maxing any of the abilities first doesn't really give her a boost to her identity in the role of support (except maybe w, but not very much). The idea I have here is, make it so that Syndra really has a choice as to what to max first depending on how she intends to play that particular game, instead of only ever rushing to max Q. I feel like this makes her decisions a bit more interesting.
R: Current Passive - Increase range of cast by 75. I know you didn't have any changes intended for this part, but I had an idea.
- Here is where I think that true damage can suit her, rather than her Q. I feel like late game, her ult can sometimes feel extremely meaningless against tanky contenders (Im looking at you Garen). And before anyone jumps in saying "But a point and click true damage is such a stupid idea, I hate you so much," lets not forget that there are point and click True dmg ultimates out there, such as Darius. Not to mention, this would ONLY benefit her at level 16 onwards, so as long as you beat her in lane, it won't ever have to come to true damage. I am all for toning back the numbers slightly to compensate, but it is another feeling I get where the current passive just seems unrewarding. I usually don't even really notice the range increase, because it is very minute.
And there we have it. These are just a few of my concepts for how Syndra could receive a little bit of love. Please do feel free to add your own thoughts and opinions, and I would love to hear Riot's point of view on my ideas too. Thanks for reading! :D
