That's a lot of damage reduction, especially if it's early game. If you happen to crit a few times on them, it wouldn't matter if you didn't build AD.

And in any case, it's extra sustain and gold in a lane that automatically gives you the poke disadvantage + push disadvantage. I haven't personally used it much, so I may be wrong, but in my crazy theorycrafting, it checks out.

Q applies damage reduction
W gives substantial shield; useful for that incoming true damage from Knight's Vow too.
E Gives 20% armor reduction, which is pretty huge. Basically puts damage 30% in your ADC's favor because your Q auto-lands then.
R is a suppress with extra resilience.
Basically a more utility-focused support Nunu from season 2 (when it was op). Build shields you can pass to the ADC, Frozen Heart, and HP items.
But nah, that'll never happen.
