About the new client...
Do I have to download it? Or does my previous one sort of just.... update.... Sorry, I'm new to this lol!

It will update, but i wouldn't before it's ready. It's pretty glitchy and they're still adding features.
U keep your old one until the beta for the new ones finished. You can manually update now but everyone will have the new client eventually.
