So this explains why in all my silver games everyone has a gold or plat border. I think when I got to gold 3 last season I was only like top 22%? I'm actually curious how quickly the ladder spreads upward into the tier system.

100 games or so for people to settle into their proper ELO.

say people play on average 3 games a day, it'll still take more than a month for everyone to settle in.

Last season plat 5 = 8%, diamond 5 = 4.2% and master+ was like .08~ These numbers are off the top of my head anyway.

This is exactly why I haven't played ranked yet. I was Gold last season and don't want to be playing against Plats while climbing out of Silver

Garth, one of the things is that only about half the total ranked players have done the placments in NA. I believe before the reset, 1,200,000-1,300,000 players were ranked in NA. Right now only 580,000+ have been ranked. The % per tier will be different until most of the ranked players are back.

Boosting/smurfs are a large factor.

They don't become very prominent until later in the season.
