Can I please receive an explanation as to how mastery score is calculated?
I'm mainly asking this question due to saltiness, as this issue has plagued me since the system came out.
I am a Sion main. Have been since his rework. The day that came out, I gave it a try and it clicked with me. From his abilities to his character, Sion is my favorite champion in League of Legends. After playing him almost religiously for so long now, I like to think I'm pretty damn great at him.
So why is it that I can never manage to at least crack an S- in a game?
Now that S- and better are required for those new mastery rankings, It's gotten under my skin even more. I've had maybe hundreds of games where I was doing absolutely GODLY. Almost matching the ADC in kills, a crapload of assists, maybe two deaths maximum, and a whopping 6000+ HP to roflstomp in the middle of the enemy team with. And the best I've managed in my entire career as a Sion main is an S. On one game.
It's become a meme amongst the group of friends I frequently lay with that, no matter how great I do, the best I'll get is an A-, while our support main will get an S- or better for just an average game. I've had games where my score was better than his in every way possible, and he STILL got an S while I didn't. I want to know WHY this is happening. What is the essential key that I'm missing in all this?
I want to provide an example of what I'm talking about with my most recent game: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2200261878/40741555?tab=builds&participant=8
In this game, as a Sion jungle, I went 11/2/25 with 145 CS over the course of a 46:16 long game. For this, I got an A+. Meanwhile, our Ezreal went 15/3/15. A rather similar score in my eyes.
He got a solid S. Why?
After hundreds of games as Sion, I want to know so badly as to why my absolute best can rarely manage to crack an S-. I understand how salty this looks, but after dealing with this for almost a year now, this has become the most frustrating thing in League of Legends for me and it manages to sour every good game I play.
