Tbh, outside of diamond id argue its always better the support get kills over the ADC. (Exception being early game ADCs)
A kill means a CS and level advantage for the ADC, if you cant win off that then idk what to tell you.
But if the support is gold and levels up, then youve got a heavier snowball coming. Support dictates the entire lane phase. Supports bring all the early damage. Supports bring the utility.
Too bad in this elo, a good support has to 1v2 bot and a good ADC has to do the same.
Supports 1v3 at all ELOs.
ADCs just need to get enough damage to kill objectives fast and not die.

But what makes a good support? I am a gold 2 support main. I think its adaptability, you need to be able to tell that your adc just deal as much damage as their adc so maybe ardent will bring them closer. One of my favorites is to play Tahm against a Blitz. I have to watch the enemy blitz and say to myself "yea I think if Draven steps here he's going to pull" and then be prepared to eat him just as blitz pulls so I can save him. So satisfying to pull that off.
Anyways, just wondering what makes a good support in your mind.
Tbh, a good support is simply anyone that can deal with being forced to babysit an entitled brat that thinks theyre gods gift to man. Lets be real.

Why this comment feels delusional to me ? adc got no agency in the lane ? supports bring all the damage ? then what's the point of ad carries farming ? gimme a break , both are needed , both need to be good to win , there is nothing called " better support wins the lane "
The only time I hate when pyke ults someone is when the person has a 1050g shut down gold, cause you will only get 300g mean while the support gets 1050g
Or like when you weren't the absolute last person to do damage to that individual so you didn't get 300 gold; you got 75 gold. People who say ADCs are whiny when they don't get the kill honestly don't realize how little gold the assist is actually worth. Riot has completely destroyed assist gold over the seasons as, best case scenario, you will get 150 gold and worst case scenario, you got an assist on a gank so the assist is split between two people instead of just one, making your gold income literally enough to buy a pink ward. Sure you kind of get a level advantage and you kind of get a wave advantage but even then, these are very minor. ADCs don't care about levels; they just don't. They care about gold. And sure, you'll come back to a minion wave that's stacked in your favor but that's a delayed advantage. You came back to it; its gold that is waiting for you, not gold that you got immediately. :/ So you're probably coming back to lane roughly even with the enemy ADC and you won't actually be ahead until after you back a second time.
Its nearly always better to let the ADC get the kill where you can so that they can press any advantage that they can. Because 75 gold just ain't worth it.
Carry players in most games are douches, same in dota 2 I'm afraid.
I can say for sure thats not true im a duche and i could not even carry myself out of silver....
I haven't heard this in a while
I remember that there was a rank 1 challenger solo que support that would just roam and always take the kill because early support items are better than early other items. Low price for a really strong active? Sounds good to me. People don't like to think outside the box and then they blame riot for enforcing a meta. Keep doing what you're doing and stay creative. Mute the haters.
Well, a Support doesn't NEED kills. They only NEED levels and active items. Gold is far more valuable on ADC's cause they need all of the help that they can get to buy the most expensive items in the game.
That said, you shouldn't be afraid to take kills ever as a Support. You should try your best to get the kill and the ADC needs to try to take that kill from you. It is better to ensure that the enemy is dead than to risk the enemy escaping.
