Why can caitlyn have 6 traps if minions cant proc them? She can block off a full lane once you are down to base. If someone steps on them they die. Also you cant destroy them. Seems pretty shitty to me.

They're on a pretty long cool down and they don't make that much of an impact. It's really only good for sieging. Also she really has no other method to peel for herself and she's immobile. You need to be a good Caitlyn to have well-placed traps in a team fight.
Pick varus against her - build Armor Pen[ duskblade ], max Q, and you wont need to walk anywhere near her traps to kill her. As second item, build Static shiv - this provides a range wave clearing item because static shiv forms chain lighting and extends your auto attack length without putting you in a compromising position.
I always build static shiv over rannans on ADCs because of this.
You know its a weird situation with the traps. When you have 5 and you can cut off a whole lane they're super powerful.
But back when she had only 3 traps they were really weak because you could just walk around them really easily.
But she can only have 5 traps if she maxes W...
Her passive makes buying armor moot. 4 item mundo melts like paper.
You are aware you have 2 bushes in lane yes? You need to learn how to snipe lol I stomped with him today in this very type of matchup.
Its very easy to put yourself outside of her vision and still Q her from an amazing range.
Because Caitlyn is a walking dispenser of sickness and unhealthy gameplay. Her auto-attack range makes it miserable to farm against her. The net makes her difficult to gank even in the best of circumstances (and when paired with a competent support makes her nigh-uncatchable) her traps make lane a nightmare and late-game sieges brainless, and her damage is far too high to justify her oppressive range.

No ADC should be able to farm/harass from that range while remaining so safe and dishing out oppressive levels of damage.
