Bard : Help
So I really like Bard, I Like how he plays, problem is people are reporting me for not staying in bot lane 100% of the time. How do I avoid this and still build my meeps up ?

Find a friend who is good enough at AD carry, practice with them and come to a consensus about when is a good time for you to roam in games.
On the opposite he is op. You just have to pick him with the right comp (dont force your teamates into a team comp by picking him in the first 3 spots). You need an adc that can famr alone, so either massive poke or escapes (corki/jinx/caitlyn and graves are probably the only ones that can do a solo bot lane). Also start with hp to help your jungler out by positioning the 3 hp between the camps before the game starts itll help him so much.
Finally leave bot lane to get your little boxes when youre very low in mana : that means try to poke the enemy when youre in lane (this is why you need a hi-range adc) and if you leave bot ward around and keep an eye on the minimap to ping your adc (i its a noob rager I had a lot of these by they listen when you ping v 8 times in row showing the 3v1...)
Don't play bard right now. He sucks.
I super believe Riot will buff him at some point, but he is awful for the time being, frankly. I don't see any way to help you play him, because he's honestly just a terrible champ atm.
i have found a few useful bards, and want to be one myself, i find collecting chimes is better after a jungle gank, dragon, or on VERY RARE occations that you need the mana.
It's "New Champ" syndrome that they think they are too hard and or suck because they have different mechanics that people aren't used to... Gnar was shit because his mega gnar couldn't be controlled, but is fine now. Azir WAS seen as a hard champion because his w was his Only root for damage.
he is good when you can utilize him well, as someone said above, he is in an odd spot because you need a team to roll around him, which kinda sucks when a team needs to build around a support....(IE out of the usual spots)
I suck at Bard too atm so I could be all wrong, but this is what works for me...
Also want to ask why you would get spellthiefs over coin???? coin has more safe gold and has a great final item.... Bard has plenty of gap closing with E, and a slow with q, why does he need frostqueens claim to do that too?
I usually grab them when the ADC backs if I don't need to, after dragon / while warding the river, or when the enemy botlane backs. It's also good to make a quick run through the bottom jungle after you back to grab the 5-6 that are usually there. It takes 30 seconds, if they cry then they just suck.
