How does Relic Shield execute work with abilites/passives that extend the range of melee champs?
Ex:
Passive. Her passive procs relic shield's execute, but it is a projectile and can be blocked by wind wall/unbreakable. Is this intended?

Don't try to make sense of windwall. I have never heard of any explanation for what it blocks or doesn't that doesn't boil down to check the wiki, and it has nothing to do with ranged or melee autos as VelKoz, Thresh, or Viktor can attest.

Ye, but those aren't technically projectiles, I think? That's probably why it can pass through.
What defines a projectile?
The larger issue is that Riot is terribly inconsistent with Windwall's behaviour and will even continue to do so and claim being "consistent".
The point is, one can't use Windwall as any standard for gameplay interactions.
Poppy's passive specifically has always counted as a melee attack, working with abilities like Grasp of the Undying as a melee.

I see.
You described how it works already. Melee champions use the execute portion of Spoils of War on their basic attacks and Poppy is a melee champion.

Okay, I guess. Just confused me a bit since it was a projectile.
There are abilities that modify your attacks to be ranged (Kayle's E), but for Poppy her passive does not change the classification specifically so that it will proc everything the same as the rest of her melee basic attacks. If the ability actually changes your melee attack into ranged (Kayle's E) then it will act like a ranged attack in every way.

Okay, thanks.
Kayle E empowered autos are not blocked by windwall, as they are not projectiles despite being ranged auto attacks.
I didn't say they are projectiles, said they are ranged. If you were just clarifying that, then thank you.
So kayle E....
Passive: Grants Kayle on Hit magic Damage. Activate: Ignite Kayle's sword with a holy flame, granting Kayle a ranged attack that damages multiple enemies and deals bonus magic damage.
Passive: Kayle's Basic Attacks deal an additional 10/15/20/25/30 (+15% Ability Power) magic damage on hit. Active: Kayle increases her Attack Range by 400 for 10 seconds and the passive bonus is increased to 20/30/40/50/60 (+30% Ability Power) magic damage on hit.In addition, enemies near her target take 20/30/40/50/60 (+20/25/30/35/40% Attack Damage) (+30% Ability Power) magic damage on attack.
It applies on hit damage (during the active) like a raged auto attack, but gets to work around windwall like the instant cast AOE spell that it is. It functions as both an auto and a spell applying either rylais or frozen mallet. It seems to work neither by the rules of auto attacks nor spells and you have to memorize its interactions as exceptions to any rules.
In part this comes down to what is the difference between a ranged auto attack and a projectile? The only answer I've found is to memorize which ones break the rules. I've been down this road many times, and it is borderline off topic for this thread, so i understand if you don't want to get into the minutia of the definition of projectiles.

Yeah, but Kayle's E doesn't really fire projectiles, right? It's sorta like an "instant" hit.
Well the thing is, projectiles are completely irrelevant to the discussion from the start. What matters to the Spoils of War mechanic is whether or not the champion is a Melee Champion.
depends on the champ unfortunately. poppy passive procs it because it specifically mentions it is a melee attack. also procs titanic when thrown.

Feels like that could lead to a very odd kill, lol.
ibg+titanic active+ shield= people really hurt from a little shield.
as a side thing, one of my favorite things to do is just q a wave with
support and just instaproc all the spoils of war passives at the same time. feels really satisfying.
