The Herald Isn't Broken

Just had a match and I can actually see how it is not as broken as every thinks it is. The big chunk of damage it does to towers is only in that first charge it does, and beyond that it will just stand there doing normal level auto attacks to it. While it is tanky, it's just gonna keep taking tower shots so if it's after your tower it won't pay attention to you while you hit it's weak point meaning the team that summoned it have to protect it to get the crazy push. And on top of this you can actually FAIL to summon the Herald if you have it. If you move (or probably even get hard cc'ed/knockedback or something) and the channel is interrupted you lose the item that summons it so no big bad beetle for you. So here is how to deal with the Herald, send 2 people to that lane. If it's in the top lane and only the Top laner that summoned it is there, then the opposing top laner and their jungler should head up there and either kill that laner or chase them off so they can make quick work of the Herald. If it's a seigemaster strat with something like ZZ'Yorick then you might need the midlaner to assist in this.

So in short remember, if you see a mutated scuttle crab charging through your lane, do not panic. Instead call on a teammate and pair up to get some crab meat.

Why would the enemy summon it when you have a chance to retaliate? I would only summon it after picking off 1-2 enemies and having an ally or two with me to guarantee we can push with it

Bingo, Face. That is one of the optimal strategies to getting the most out of it. I brought up some of those points because I had heard earlier of people trying to move while summoning it for their first time only to lose the item and the beast because they moved and broke the channel. Now also given that the item takes up the spot for wards one could, in theory, accidentally start summoning it when they go to put down a ward, leaving them to either sit through the channel and hope no nearby enemy jumps them or to move in that panic/confusion and lose the Herald.

The fact that it can be so easily solo'd is a problem.

It is. IF you use it after getting 1 or 2 picks. Seriously. Did this in mid lane (we had the first tower already) got the 2nd tier tower, the inhib tower, AND THE INHIBITOR. FOR FREE

that doesn't sound free. it would be "free" and "broken" if it could do even half that with enemies around, but since you need to clear your enemies just to get that means it can be stopped/countered and thus not really broken and means those towers and inhibs were not "free".

Did i also mention we got both towers incredibly fast. After only a double kill. And we ran it 3 down mid. They litterally could not respond in time.
