What's the cause of Miss Fortune being underplayed?

Hello,

I am just a low ELO ADC main who started to one trick Miss Fortune. She's never banned and I've only seen the enemy pick her once in my last 40 games. I am currently Gold 2, but I was Gold 5 earlier this week and my 80% MF winrate got me to gold 2 (24 wins 6 losses). She's a solid pick, yet nobody plays her.

I was wondering what the causes MF to be underplayed.

A lot of people just copy what they see in pro play, and Miss Fortune hasn't seen much pro play at all besides at the beginning of the season when lethality broke her and she was being played as a support. Riot kinda forced her back into the crit build with the changes to her q and lethality itself. She just has a lot more weaknesses than regular ADC's at the moment. No built in escape, using your ultimate basically makes you extremely vulnerable for 3 seconds, little to no crowd control, and it becomes almost impossible to kite enemies if your loose your W movement speed. Not to say she can't be played to effectiveness, you just need practice. Safety nets on a champion is just something people rely so heavily on in Solo q, and unfortunately miss fortune has none.

people sleep on her because they assume she's a low elo stomper, and the fact that lethality was nerfed made people think she was gutted, she also has to deal with Draven being one of the strongest adc's right now who, this is an assumption based on me playing a lot of draven last year, counters her a decent amount because of standaside letting him cancel her ult really easily. This doesn't mean she's weak it just makes people hesitate about picking her

Because she's not a right click > AFK > Auto-win ADC. She's an ADCaster, and has to position well to use her Q and her ult.

Basically, she's too hard for most people when Lethality isn't breaking her.

I want to blame it on two things

1-her passive Her passive punishes you for focusing a target, which is just weird for as a adc, you want to pick a target and poke them down to size with autos. You don't want to be constantly switching targets.

2-She has no mobility, so in any meta where champions who are good at fucking up adcs are viable, she won't be.

If you want to include support MF in this discussion, then it's arguable that the nerfs to zyra/frost queen's (plants can't insta-tap all of the charges now) combined with the larger prevalence of things like thresh have neutered both her and other "immobile" supports.

ADC MF is much the same, as unless the thing is a hypercarry like twitch/kog I can see why people wouldn't think she's good even if her q/ulti damage is ridiculous.

While she is my favorite ADC when I get the role, she isn't very good because she's just too gimmicky.

Her passive gives bonus damage when you switch targets, which is really hard to do in a teamfight with high attack speed. Oh, and you typically want to kill one enemy as fast as possible, not get them all to half health and run because they knew how to focus one target. Low tier this may be able to be used effectively but it's just not going to happen in higher low tier (like high silver/low gold.)

Q requires double-up to be positioned correctly and people start understanding how to position against her. Again too gimmicky and doesn't work against higher elo players....once again I'm drawing that higher elo bar at high silver.

W is an attack speed boost which is the only thing that says adc about her.

E is an area slow which, in reality, is very nice in combination with her ultimate.

R is really all she is good for. If you can catch a couple enemies out of position and e/r them, you can deal a lot of damage to them. As long as they're as immobile as you (or made immobile by your team of course!)

I wouldn't really call her an adc at the end of the day. She's like a failed ad mage experiment.

Lack of a dash can make players feel like they can't do anything if the enemy has a fed diver or assassin, players really hate that feeling.

I think she's still overall pretty strong right now. Her ult is basically the perfect tool for the types of teamfights that solo queue players love.
