Alot of complaining, so What has been the most "balanced" season for game play for LOL? (Real Talk)

No Bullshit. Be Honest. Veterans, what seasons do you remember being "standard" or "good'old days"? and what was it that felt right?

Im newer, I have only been playing since Season 9, and I already have quite a bit to add to the discussion of game balancing. I recognize broken things but I don't know if constant problems has always been a part of the League of Legends experience so im asking for a friend if this IS League of Legends or has been Riot smoking somethin' during office hours for the last year(s)?

Edit* It seems like before season 6 and after season 2 is a somewhat of a positive or "golden era", was it because Riot seemed to just stop carrying about balance and focused on trying to "Spice it up"? What im understanding is there was a few BiG patches/changes that just toy'd with everything too much.

Well I like Season 5, personally.

Special place in my heart for the fustercluck that was Season 4 though.

Season 5, pre juggernaut update, was probably, by far, the most well balanced season. Everything went downhill afterwards.

A lot is two words dude.

I think all the seasons are balanced.

Tail end of 4 and most of season 5. Teambuilder season 5 was when at least half the normal games on my account were played.

Season 3 and 4 will forever be my favorites

I started in season 3, and it seems like a whole different game than it is right now. Yi was still broken but bloodrazor didn't exist, and mages could spellvamp with Will of the Ancients to have a chance at surviving. Garen and Darius were different, no juggernaut class update for 3 more years and Darius's passive did magic instead of physical damage. Old Irelia and Akali were far more fun to play than the current versions, sunfire cape and thornmail did actual damage, and spirit of the elder lizard helped prevent healing while we also had sightstone if we really needed wards.

The thing I liked most was customizing the runes and masteries for each particular champion rather than this "Reforged" crap where you have no real options, its 4 of one tree and 2 of another and 3 "flex" options. Before you could tailor your champion to the way you play - need more health early? 0.98% crit chance (lol) for Draven? Hey how about starting the game with 15 AP instead of 0? The old runes and masteries really helped tailor the game to your playstyle. This was before keystones, although they weren't too bad at first.

If they ever have season 3 and 4, or for that matter beta/1/2 I never got to play on any League classic project count me in. Ever since pre-season 2016 its been shit.

I can tell only where i have most fun playing game. Season 3,4,5 its all before this extra camp timers drake timers plants and other crap. My favorite part was solo carry team but atm this not happend anymore because riot push game to "team experience without voice comunication"

Last season was the most balanced season, this season will be the most balanced season after things settle, as preseason shakes things up a lot initially.

The old seasons were worse for balance, people just have nostalgia goggles for the 50 minute games where no one died because of how strong in lane sustain was and one teamfight ended everything.

Season 5 for me, before the map change is when i started, season 6 was iffy, but was still ok, but 5 was best for me. Also all the people saying s9 was the best, either you haven't played enough and are extremely ignorant to looking at the pattern of imbalance (not you, OP, you actually have an open mind), or you are the type of person to ride riot's dick so hard hoping that youll be listened too, when in turn you really just cement their bad ideas into the game with your mindless yesman antics.

Last season was quite ok. Everyone complains about everything dying too fast and having too much damage, but I don't really think that's the case. Its nowhere near the balance fuck-ups like:

  • most mass updates(juggernauts, ADCs, ADC items double-crit-IE version)
  • devourers(initial one with WW ult oneshots, sated devourer that forced laners to gank jungler, guinsoo that got devourer's passive but wasn't nerfed yet)
  • release duskblade(95% banrate Zed in master+ for several months)
  • release plants(random blastcone spawns winning a free gank for jungler)
  • stopwatch meta
  • "ADC in 20xx lul" meta with permanent shitfest in botlane with mandatory teleports on mid/top
  • scuttle after first rework('fun' lvl2 3x3 fights that decided which jungler gets to play a game) and so on.

Every single season has had their fair share of broken as hell stuff. Whether people want to admit it or not it doesn't matter. We had things from kassawin to cinderhulk tanks being hilariously broken to laners abusing the hell out of the jungle items to league of black cleavers among many, many more things. So it all comes down to "which season had the least broken stuff you hated".

s9 is objectively the most balanced season, season 3 felt balanced but that was only after ignoring every riot patented fuck up in the items and penetration calcs and forgetting how utterly crushing ad assassins were at that time.
