#KNIGHT'S VOW

  • HEALTH
  • HEALTH REGEN
  • ARMOR
  • PASSIVE: Designate an allied champion as your partner. Gain armor and movement speed when near your partner, redirect a portion of their damage taken to yourself, and heal for a portion of their damage dealt.

I now know my new core item on Taric. :D

It feels like they're giving Tanks some love and the tools needed to truly beat Assassins in a rock paper scissor fight

TyrekGoldenspear10 votes

Yeah! They can't give Assassins shiny new toys without giving tanks some counter-play to keep the carries safe eh? ;D

Hey now, I'm a player like yourself, I tend to chime in any kind of discussion that interests me^^

Especially seeing that I main stuff like Nautilus, Skarner, Mao and co beside Mordekaiser being numero uno.

Still, a lot of tank items even benefit the metal man so I'm really happy with preseason so far.

TyrekGoldenspear3 votes

Well I'm glad you're a very down-to-earth boards celebrity, it really makes you stand out. :D

Knights Vow could also be what Morde needs to be in a duo lane. Eh?

Movement speed + healing on his damage? Phew, Morde's Q can probably 0-100 your support. XD

Malicious Metal3 votes

Or DUO Knight's Vow! I tend to play Morde bot with some friends of mine from time to time and they always support with either Sion or Darius so we may just both get it and become an unstoppable tag team XD

TyrekGoldenspear2 votes

Lol, united you two will heal each other by bashing the enemies' faces in. XD

Who needs summoner 7 amirite?

Malicious Metal3 votes

The funny part is the potential 380+0.6AP heal Morde can provide for the two of 'em ^^

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

ADCs might get pushed out of bot lane unless a tanky high damage champ supports them lol.

Jhin + DrMundo support new meta.

Would you ever consider going the new keystone on Morde or not in a billion years?

Malicious Metal3 votes

It doesn't apply on slows soo...

EndlessSorcerer4 votes

Only as a self-imposed challenge.

Spoofghoul1 votes

maybe riot should buff morde with

0,000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 sec stuns on every ability

Melledoneus1 votes

You still don't main Shen, damn it.

You're not truly a tank player in my eyes.

Blue Moon Wolf1 votes

I think meddler mentioned that the new keystone is supposed to be helpful for both Vanguards and Divers going tanky. Kind of neat since those are the next two that should be updated and this keystone mastery is almost them prepping for those updates. I know it's getting me hyped :p

Sion jungle clears are going to be insanely safe now. I love it.

TyrekGoldenspear2 votes

Oh yeah. Fully charged Q on jungle creeps = Shield.

W = sheild.

Sion enters jungle full health.

Sion leaves Jungle full health.

Only has to back for shopping lol.

Ben Sharpio3 votes

sion already leaves jungle incredibly healthy (sion jungle 1 trick)

Erractic Eick2 votes

Teach me master. I want to learn how.

Folks, do not forget that each time you smite a big monster, you get health back! woot!

Critmaster Garen1 votes

whats the cooldown on the shield? whats the scaling?

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

I have no idea lol, but Knight's Vow will effectively replace BoS for me, so only time will tell.

im still wondering which one of the two is going to buy the item in the duo lane. the bruiser, or the support.

in a Blitzcrank Darius lane, the item would probably be better off on darius, due to the heal on his q. he could shrugg the redirected damage off more easily. on the other hand, darius deals more damage, so blitz could heal more off that.

TyrekGoldenspear3 votes

Why not both? Depending on how cheap it is (Since I'm guessing it's meant to fit a tank support's budget) They can both get it!

The cooldown on Courage of the Colossus is 30 seconds.

Critmaster Garen1 votes

id definitely want to try a Taric Garen lane with this.

TyrekGoldenspear3 votes

Shields and heals all day.

That plus MS means you will not escape justice.

Fondling Gems2 votes

Actually seems pretty crap for Garen to buy. Any time a nearby ally takes dmg his passive would most likely disable.

yea, thats probably why taric would build it. garen would buy damage and heal him off that. but its still 12% damage reduction until then on top of tarics armor buff, which is also icnreased by the 40 armor on the item.

it seems like a lot of damage reduction overall, which is exactly whats needed to deal with ranged poke.

It Hertz When IP1 votes

Forget Taric, I have a new item for every tank support (and some non-tank supports) that I play, period. Especially those without any sustain in their kits (thinking specifically of Leona).

Shadow Hazard1 votes

Wont this be kinda busted on any champ that can consistently apply slows?

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

Only works on hard CC.

The Letter H1 votes

The shield only triggers on HARD CC. (Stuns, roots, fears, any cc that prevents movement.) Rioter mentioned this on another post about naut and this mastery.

Geistflame1 votes

Well I look like an idiot now..... scurries out

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

Not to worry mate, I didn't know it only worked on hard CC till recently.

Alpha Omega 23491 votes

forget taric nautalis has 4 forms of cc one of witch is on a 4 second cool down with max cdr if that shield is even scales with just five percent of your max hp hitting five enemy champs with riptide would grant you 25% more hp in effect and that is something you will do with ease in sixteen seconds you will have DOUBLED your health pool in addition to slowing and damaging enemy champions and that ignores the fact that he has three other forms of cc plus items you would have a nearly INFINITE AMOUNT OF HEALTH which means that my boyNautilus is FINALLY back in the jungle meta WOOOOOOO

GrReaper962 votes

Only works on hard cc againts champions with a long cd and strength depends on amount of enemy champions nearby when cc is hit.

The Letter H1 votes

I can't wait to try this on Kench, with that bonus movement speed I'll be stickier than Tankko.

And lets not forget about that "Ally lifesteal," grey health regen + partner damage heal = op.

I swear if that damage heal is gained from all damage dealt (including to minions) this item is going to be real OP.

Champion Skin1 votes

It only works on immobilization of enemy champions... meaning Kench needs to get 3 stacks and hit Q or use his W (would W even work?)

The Letter H1 votes

I was talking about Knights vow, not the mastery.

Alpha Omega 23491 votes

forget taric nautalis is where courage is the bet thing ever even if its just 5% of your max hp naut can get a 55% max hp shield and that is assuming that it only counts for champions if it counts for anything jg nautalis will be virtually immortal and in a team fight your ult will usualy hit five or six minions meaning 30% bonus shield so my boy jg naut Nautilus is back in business :)

GrReaper961 votes

Only works on hard cc againts champions with a long cd and strength depends on amount of enemy champions nearby when cc is hit.

GrReaper961 votes

Actually it has a significantly long cd but gives a big shield depending on enemies around you when the hard cc is cast. So actually works best on Malphite Amumu Hecarim MonkeyKing like champons

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

thats my new key item on Braum

Blue Moon Wolf1 votes

I'm more exited about Redemption. I don't which champs will do the best with it, but I think I'm gonna spam it on every support I own till I find out X3

dunkeroni1 votes

RIP Strength of Ages

Champion Skin1 votes

Hmm well for Taric then isn't also windspeaker pretty good 10% increased healing/shielding (his Q and W) and it also increase allies resistances on healing/shielding

and the 5% CDR and increased CDR limit can be pretty powerful on Taric thanks to his passive making CDR so powerful and effective (if he is in melee range and auto attacking something that is)

Merbstrom1 votes

I'm guessing the new keystone will probably be reserved for engage champs ^(see GrReaper96) rather than our favorite manmode champ... Knight's vow however, might be really good. But because of the dmg reduction passive converting to true dmg, I'm not sure at what stage of the game this would be optimal. It definitely has some fun risk/rewards even if it doesn't end up being that good. I'm guessing it would probably be a bad buy against Veigar though because unlike bond of stone, knight's vow doesn't appear to have a hp cutoff. And that little master of evil shouldn't need any help getting a kill with that ult.

That being said the survivability it provides with the heals + 400 health + (20 base + 40 passive + 6, 7.5, 9, 10.5, 12 Bastion) armour is nothing to smirk at. I'm super excited to try this out.

-Side note, I wonder if Veigar's r killed two champs because of the knights vow passive "Phenomenal Evil Power" would correctly count it as such, you lucky PBE peeps get on that.
