Idea to put a stop to Queue Dodging in ARAM

Simply put my friends and I feel the punishment system is lacking when it comes to queue dodging in ARAM. I propose that if someone queue dodges that player and anyone they partied with will receive the same champions the next time they enter champion select on ARAM. Also it maybe a good idea to increase the wait time for dodging to be longer than 15mins (the surrender time).

These changes could cause people just to play the game rather than dodge and go make a bite to eat or stop for bathroom break while you wait for the timer to run out. I personally have done this a few times in the past due to the fact that the current punishment system doesn't seem to be enough.

So, let's say I get Lux, but the rest of my team is all melee---I'll just queue dodge and get Lux again and see if I can get a better team comp.

...and just like that I've found a way around your punishment system.

I dont believe you fully understood what I'm proposing. I did think about that fact, some people may try and do stuff like make a "perfect team". Like I said if your teammates are queued with you when you dodged then would also have the same champs they previously had. If your not in a party then that is one of the reasons they would need to increase the penalty time for dodging. If u really want to wait 30 mins or more in hopes your new randoms have better champions then okay. But if they don't then you just wasted a half hour or your gonna dodge again and possibly be temp banned have fun with that. So no I dont think dodging would be a way around the system.

The point is the punishments need to cause people just to play the game with the hand they are dealt. Whether you surrender at 15 min or play the game through. At least if you play the game you'll get more points towards your next RR, IP, possibly more loot, you may learn how to play a different champion, and your gonna move on to your next game sooner. My opinion that's better than sitting around for 30 mins hoping I get some ranged allies on my next queue.

or how about they make all champions free to play in that mode so I don't feel the need to dodge? because I dodge ARAM games often, reason being that there are a ton of ARAM accounts so if I get a bad champions chances of having fun are low if I face 4/5 ARAM accounts

I totally agree. Dodge timer on ARAM needs to, at the absolute minimum be 20 minutes. 45 minutes would be best, but that may be too long.

Why would it have a higher length than Ranked? It's not even a Normal, this is ARAM, on the same importance as Draft.

Dodging is part of the system and is also a legitimate strategy that I suggest you use from time to time to your own gain, rather than always see the downside. I personally don't even find it that annoying in aram, compared to norms or ranked, because the champ select is way shorter. I don't see where you're coming from, to be honest. ARAM rn is in a pretty good spot, imHo.

Now about the proposed rules. I know that the recent changes have improved the experience for melee's, but there are still bad comps out there, why go through a cringing 20m game when not farming for IP? Or if I'm gunning for a quick First win of the day bonus, it's not so quick if I wait longer than 15m. There are also champs that I personally hate or really suck at, and your idea would potentially place me with same champ for infinity. Good fkn job.

Also, bravo for the other poster that found a way to abuse your proposed rule.

First off you wouldn't stuck with the same champ for infinity if u would just play a single game as I explained to the other poster. Also I also this isn't to compare it to farming, ranked, or anything of that sort its just about the gamemode which is All Random not "Only the people I wanna play mid". That being said I think dodging in ranked should be more punishing as well. Dodging does show skill, in fact it shows a lack there of. Before the 10 ban system I debated the thought that it should reward the other team if you dodge since they more than likely banned or counter picked you to the point that you felt defeat was already imminent. (cant really help of someone on your team troll bans your pick or something...why i nvr pre-select my champion anymore.)

I feel you don't fully understand dodging, pros and cons, and I'm not gon even try to explain it to you because u have ur mind set up and anything I say will be futile. I personally feel I could dodge a lot more, as a plat friend dodges left and right. There was a saying, only a fool fights a battle he cannot win. I truly hope you find your way.

The only pro that dodging has is specifically in ranked and its if you get that guy who trolls a queue so instead of losing 20 lp you dodge and lose 2 lp and have a 5 minute wait. Dodging in Aram has absolutely no pro what so ever except that it pisses off people who get champs they want to play and lose the opportunity to do so. The R in Aram stands for random, so you know what you getting yourself into by possibly getting a crappy champ regardless.

P.S. - Tell your plat friend to stop dodging Aram's he's better than that. From one Plat to another...
