Matchmaking formula flaw
I've been playing a long time. I understand that matchmaking is based upon your mmr. What i don't understand is that the matchups feel like the system already knows that I'm more skilled than the teammates it's pairing me with in this elo. It feels as if this is being done to balance the teams, as I am constantly paired with teammates that are losing their lanes despite my developing large gains for all of them, completely removing the enemy jungler or midlaner, top or botlane from the picture. It's as if it knows that I should be good, and hence it pairs my teams in an unfair way as to make me have to carry more than my weight... or we will most certainly lose the game. In many cases, we lose regardless, because who on earth can carry that much. I ask Riot what kind of formula is being used on the backend that would cause this. It's unfair. It's not fun. It's frustrating. And it's demeaning by way of heaping heavy loads upon players that shouldn't be carrying that much of the weight of a team on a regular basis. You queue as 5. With that in mind, I should only.. only.. be ever carrying 1/5th of my team's endeavor to victory. Now, I urge you to take a discerning look at what the matchmaking formula is doing that is causing this kind of ungodly, drastic imbalance. I do not in any way enjoy holding this much weight.. every game. I tell you, truly, the games where I was only 1/5th of the necessity to win a game... it was like a breath of fresh air. And why is that so uncommon?
Now, because of the odd balancing that's going on in the matchmade games, I'm looking at permanent 18-22 lp losses and only gaining 15 lp for wins. You trap people in low elos they should never have been a part of in the first place, and now they cannot escape it. I'd beg you to watch my games.. to see the ghastly magic that begins and ends with me doing all of the right things (amazing things!) and still losing the game. I can't even begin to describe to you all of the games on my list that have negative kda scores that began and ended with me having 200% more dmg than anyone on my team, and 50% more objective and combat time than anyone else. Or the games where the only plays being made for fights... were me making them. Yes, this might sound arrogant to the unknowing reader, I believe that. But I'm telling you the truth that something is amiss with these matchmade games. It has been so bad that I have taken long breaks from the game because of how unfair it was and has been, repeatedly. No one deserves that kind of unrelenting stress trying to achieve victory for a team, when the joy is supposed to be the mutual endeavor and challenge to accomplish it. And yes, it is stressful when you're so often the only person getting anything done. It's been so bad that I have deeply pondered whether games would be more balanced.. by games not being balanced by the system; random elo'd players being thrown together and the 5 that win - win. I would prefer it. I got into ranked hoping that I, and anyone else that played on the ladder, would be playing alongside equals, based on our personal rating. I knew in my mind that the notion of that made sense to me. Surely you'd be playing alongside others with equal skill, equal ability or lack of ability to make strides for their side. What we have, instead, is a system that's blind to which individual players actually won their 1/5th contribution to the game (obviously, because it's a team game), but knowing full well which players know their stuff - and penalizing them with the poorest and cruelest kind of matchmaking, designed to make it harder for them.. by making them carry the weight they usually carry, every game. I have no idea whether this is the accurate picture of what's going on, but it is without a doubt the result of what is going on behind the scenes.
I have elaborated so much about this one thing. I beg of someone on the Riot end to have at least some form of research done into why this is so common. Being only 1 of 5 necessary players to win a game again.. that would be absolutely wonderful. Thank you for your time.
