Question on Leashing.

Is it ever acceptable to leash the buff instead of one of the smaller camps?

On certain junglers that can't make efficient use of rocks (non-att spd ones) it's decently normal to start at the buff. Any time you think you'll get invaded you should for sure start at the buff.

With the new spawn timers on the pbe we might be starting at the buff next season for sure.

Good point.

The fact that the buffs will be alone will make leashing easier.

NEVER

Yeah, it's totally acceptable particularly on red where they can use the buff for early ganks as long as it saves your jungler time and health on future clears in the long run.

Does it work best with certain junglers? Becuase someone else stated that it usually isnt done becuase it takes too long and makes the laner miss gold.

For champions like Evelynn and Mundo I think starting red buff is best because it provides them with higher health regen and true damage on all the camps making them easier to kite. It also means they'll spend less time in the bottom and rotate to the top jungle faster while being healthy enough by the time they get to the blue buff to perform an early gank before the opposing jungler.

You kinda would prefer to leash at buff if the support and adc duo are there to make it faster.

It's frowned upon, leashing is usually ok because if you do the furthest side camp the laner won't miss a cs. A buff leash will take too long and make them miss gold.

Ah so this is why. Makes sense.

leash where ever the jungler feels they need to start...

but auto twice and maybe use one ability and walk away...

Interesting. As a tanky champ I usually tank the camp for the jungler to give them a leg up, especially if they are squishy.

well if you tank and damage your hp bar and stay to long you are at a disvantage when you get to lane... for one the enemy is already there and they have control of the lane already and they will zone and bully you and get that important lvl 2 power spike and that can decided the lane right there..

so lets say your top and you are a tanky bruiser champ vs a champ that is actually by designed has an advantage over you... range, mobility... so your already kinda countered... then you tank the camp for the jungler... and lose 1/4-1/3 hp doing so then you come to lane and they already have 4 cs and you lost 2 to minions so they get 6 cs and you manage only 4... 2nd wave comes... they get lvl 2 and your lvl 1 trying to recover your hp and they start to harass you and punish you for every cs and freeze the wave denying you cs and experience

lane is over

Ah, but laning isn't everything. I will scale better in a teamfight depending on whether i am playing a Vanguard or Warden.

Plus I know how to farm under tower and play safe. A marksman cannot push to my tower without risk becuase they would be jungler food.

but if someone is level 2 when your level 1 and have more damage based off of having 2 abilities to your 1 and they have more base damage, more armor, more hp for having the level advantage could be enough for them to go ham and kill you...

and if you are zoned out and lose cs and experience then you wont out scale or out level til late late game where it dont matter but if we are talking about that player abusing there power lead and killing you and roaming and snowballing it matters

you think it dont but it truly does

Not to worry, I know what to do when I lose lane. I've won plenty of games that I have lost lane in.

oSEXYPLATYPUSo1 votes

ok whatever...

you will see what im talking about... maybe it dont effect you right now but as you climb and play vs better players it will dawn on ya

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

No I get you completly.

Im not dumb enough to throw away my advantage in lane if I don't have to. In fact I try to win lane. It makes my job easier.

If leashing buffs does more harm than good then I won't. Simple.

But if an invade is possible then I will take that risk.

You will miss about 3 cs top side leashing the buff. So its usually not a good idea. Also top laners normally dont do much damage in this meta until mid/late game, so itd be bad to leash the buff with no damage.

You'll be leasing buffs only soon dw.

it depends, you can leash them though the entire jgl if ur confident in your laning, dont recomend going that far tho. i sometimes help them through krugs and red just to give thdm an extra boost
