[Bug] Season Placement Matches using false MMR?

So I ended last season as Gold 2, with a decent win rate, about 60%.

I did my placement matchs, and absolutely smashed them. I won them all except for one, and the games I did win I did great in with a 6-1 KDA as the ADC. Played very well, against Platinum players, and destroyed them 90% of the time.

So, I went 9-1, with a great KDA (About 6-1). And I was placed into Silver 1.

Surely this is a bug and cannot be correct.

Why would I be placed an ENTIRE DIVISION below where I was before reset? I would understand if I did poorly, but I feel that I did phenomenally well and considering I was playing against plats the entire time I would expect AT LEAST to be placed back to where I was. I won 6 games in a row, lost 1, and then won the next 3 games.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

You're not the only one though. Many plat players are being placed in high silver, some that do poorly (4/10) or exceptionally well (8/10 or up)

I've just completed my series 7/10 wins and could be 9/10 if it wasnt for trolls. Anyway, riot placed me right at bronze1. WTH!? Seriously!? I never even been bronze in my life!? :O Opened ticket right away with screenshot attached. :/

Doesn't matter.

Hello Summoner,

The 2016 Season is a fresh start for everyone who plays ranked games. Your last season's performance carries weight, along with your placement matches, but this doesn't necessarily mean you will be placed in the same division you ended in last season.

We made some changes to the Leagues system this season that should allow players to more quickly reach the League that appropriately reflects their skill level. So, even if you didn't place in the division you expected, it's important to remember that this is your starting point for the season, not your final destination. I am sorry to say that is not a bug with regard to your result of the placements.

Unfortunately, it's not possible for me to reset or adjust League Point values or matchmaking rating, or to change a player's current League. Our system was set up this way to prevent abuse.

I am sorry I couldn't help you more directly, but please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
