Zyra and Malzahar.
With the mage update coming next week wednesday, I want to pick up another mage. These two are the only ones I've in the update that I've played before. So I'm curious.

Malzahar is a good pick for carrying as an APC mid - though his new [W] could make him a very viable jungler. His changes will only improve his output within his role, and he'll still be easy to learn.
Zyra is versatile (she can't ADC) and powerful, but relatively difficult to use. The new changes will only pronounce this, as her [Q] skill will initially be awkward to use and her new passive will take micro-managing her playstyle to a whole new level.
