Account linking would benefit players and RIOT

There are multiple good reasons to implement account linking, but lets start with what it is, or rather, should be.

Account linking is linking your accounts together and linking them to you as a person. This could be done via phone number (no prepaids) or by using debit/credit card number, there are other ways also to link the account to real person and I believe that only Riot has the tools (and can find the data) to find the right set of options.

I dare to guess it is important for RIOT that the game remains easy access so whatever the solution is, it should be "business friendly" to them but at the same time Riot should realise that toxic community or poor game quality is not good for business either.

There are other benefits for account linking too. Your account's security would be greatly improved and for some people who have spend lot of money this would certainly be welcome addition.

It is important to note that it is probably impossible to remove the possibility to play with 2 or more unlinked accounts. That should not be the goal of the account linking. However, linking should be encouraged and rewarded (maybe even possibility to share limited number of skins between accounts etc). I believe players would behave better because it is easier for RIOT to take disciplinary action for those players who constantly behave badly and then just play with their other account where they behave okay.

The benefits don't end there, smurfing in lower elo would be greatly reduced because it would be easy, or at least easier, to identify players real elo, and thus place them around their own elo. That would fix a lot of issues lower elo faces these days.

I have no data to show as I cannot get access to that kind of data, but I believe many trolls and inters and afk people play with secondary account and behave more normally on their "main" account. I have no way of knowing if this is true however, but again RIOT probably does.

Even though I understand that linking account to real person and linking alternate accounts together can be hassle for some people, I believe it would be great step forward and really something that should be implemented. Simply put, the positive effects this would have greatly outweighs the negatives.
