Am I the only one who doesn't like the passive buffs in the bottom left? ._.

Such as the icons being above your champ picture+stats/items. It seems very far off the edge of the screen that it's like being distracted by something when driving a car. Such as some skills such as the golem buff smite passive counter, looking all the way to the left seems to get your** eyes off the gameplay** for a brief second which could result in some disastrous results.

Or even things such as aatrox W attacks or just wanting to know if you have a particular buff or not, it's just too far to look at.

My suggestion is that to keep the passive icons above the skill buttons, but on the left side, while the active item icons on the right (unchanged). Or maybe even maybe letting us move the HUD anywhere with our mouse, so say if we wanted the buffs in the middle of the screen, we can just drag the icons there.

i hate it. it throws me off when im using flask/pots

Espy Psyche11/29/2014, 12:10:17 AM11 votes

I agree. Stuff like flavor buffs, auras and such can stay there, but time-sensitive buffs and debuffs need to be in the middle.

I keep sliding the map sideways trying to read the buff tooltip.

I think I'll get used to it as it is now, it'll just take a bit.

That being said, +1 for the option to customize it.

There has been many discussion threads about this (here and on reddit). From what I see, people want an option to keep the buff icons towards the center as it was before the 4.20 patch since seeing a tiny box on the bottom left / right hand corner may be a little difficult. Personally, I like keeping the icons towards the center now that it can be more clear (with the active item timers). However, I'm also willing to adjust.

Yup, I don't even bother to look there anymore because it's way too damn far off the action.

Draven Always11/28/2014, 11:13:36 PM4 votes

I don't like it either.

I agree that having to look over to the corner of the screen is rather counter-productive. This is especially true during fights. Maybe an option in settings to position your buffs would be nice? Or one step further, the option to customize your GUI (re-arrange layout, add/remove components, etc)

Flemman11/28/2014, 10:02:51 PM3 votes

Fun fact, they change the camera angle to make us not looking to much at the edge of the screen, then they put the stats there >-<

Daedalus87111/29/2014, 4:53:25 AM3 votes

I agree.

Some buffs don't really matter where they are because they are long term buffs that you can mouse over anytime (dragon, baron, blue, etc).

Other buffs make a big difference. Like is that ignite going to take you out if you don't use a pot? Long term buffs (10+ sec) could probably be stuck where they are now without that much of a difference, but short term buffs should be centrally located.

I don't like this either. It was better before. the passive icons can be on the side, but the actives, yeah under. plz.

Colgate Gator11/28/2014, 10:07:21 PM3 votes

Considering the many threads that have been made about this, no.

I hate it, and I'm still asking for Riot to stop screwing around and give us a fully customizable HUD.

Xengre11/28/2014, 10:10:36 PM3 votes

Sometimes I don't notice buffs being active because its so far off to the side. They should develop a better way to differentiate which buffs/debuffs are what. It is one thing for the larger map/character sets, but the current setup just doesn't work for me.

MarhsallLee6711/28/2014, 6:50:20 PM3 votes

More than once I've found myself thinking I don't have blue/red buff when in reality the buff isn't even half used-up because I'm so used to having the icons above my abilities. It is REALLY confusing sometimes.

2kjup3bruh11/28/2014, 5:34:58 PM3 votes

No, you're not. I hate them being there. They're too out of the way.

UnoGetGoldELO11/28/2014, 4:54:29 PM3 votes

its bad and a random ass decision i want it back to how it was ABOVE my toolbar and not in the bottom left where i never look @

Hawkefire11/28/2014, 11:51:02 PM3 votes

I hate it as well, and it is pretty much impossible for me to check the status of my buffs/debuffs on myself in the middle of a fight because of the location because of the change.

idl111/28/2014, 11:19:00 AM2 votes

I liked it better before but I've already gotten used to it's new place. If they moved it now I'd be messed up again.

2pudge1cup11/28/2014, 2:12:14 PM2 votes

I can see why they moved it. There are way way more buffs in this iteration of SR/items than before. Moving it gets rid of screen clutter.

That being said, I'd like to see what the duration on my potions are and what the timings on my buffs are quickly and easily.

Jungle Lux God11/28/2014, 6:40:31 PM2 votes

It depends on the buff.

If it is stuff like auras, minor buffs, or "flavor" buffs (like the Vi/Cait vs Jinx buff counting how many kills each has), then it is appropriate to go in the bottom left.

If it is stuff you regularly need like champion buff timers (ie. Naut's shield), then it NEEDS to be in the middle buff bar because the champ regularly needs that buff to succeed.

I feel like the idea was good for moving the buffs you don't need or you know are going to be there for a long time, but the execution was absolutely dreadful.

Elemon11/29/2014, 3:36:16 AM2 votes

I don't really mind it, but I'm too used to looking down above the skill icons...

Dr Nay11/29/2014, 9:52:04 AM2 votes

They should be above the ability's

Tapu Fini11/29/2014, 8:33:56 AM1 votes

Definitely not, pretty much hate it.

Logical consolidation of information has you looking at one place on the screen, and the important things you're looking at already are your spell cooldowns, your eyes already default there, so important information such as your buffs and debuffs should be there as well, not this cross-eyed bullshit they've got going.

In a fight, you don't stare at the statistics at the bottom left of the screen, you're (generally) staring at the center, where the action is happening.

FluxBound11/30/2014, 11:28:08 AM1 votes

why is this down so low on the boards? rito pls

CalciferHowel11/29/2014, 4:32:17 PM1 votes

You are not.

Migrañaboy11/29/2014, 7:25:12 PM1 votes

I'd like it better if there's a way to highlight (make a bigger icon for example) a passive.

Shro0mie1/1/2015, 11:54:56 PM1 votes

Nope I find very distracting too, even after I feel I've had enough play time with the new system to have gotten "use" to it. But Im sure they had some reason for it so at least have an option for it in the gameplay section?

AbyssionKnight11/29/2014, 8:15:33 AM1 votes

It also makes it harder to notice when you have auras touching you, like fiddles passive, or aegis or something along those lines, since it's so far to the side.

Though we have to remember that it might also seem so hard for us because we've spent months or years playing with it over our health bars, and it'll just take a while for us to get accustomed to the new location.
