Let's look at the bright side of this patch.

Darius Nerfs? Check. Fiora nerfs? Check. Skarner nerfs? Check. Devourer nerfs? Check.

Looks like banning phase might be a little different after this coming patch.

Still waiting for Vayne to be toned down though, but that'll be after worlds.

Darius "nerfs".

So would you rather he just not be touched? At least Riot made an effort to tune down his dueling.

Id probably rather see him untouched. He is impossible to beat in a duel anyway, 3% less healing is gonna do nothing. If youre missing 3k HP, thats a 360 instead of a 450 heal. But the max heal would be 1080 instead of 900. Hitting 2 people would still heal him for over 700 too, so idk... lets see.

I know personally the frustrating part of laning against Darius was that he could heal for so much from hitting me alone. Riot made this a bit harder for him to oversustain in lane with these upcoming nerfs.

Basically, they're rewarding the good Darius players for hitting more than one player with it and punishing the bad Darius players for wasting it on only one player.

At least he has to hit 3 people for full heal instead of 2

So can we not pretend that a mana cost increase of 20 isn't a big deal?

For a skill thats used every few seconds, and maxed first; thats a pretty big deal, its not going to solve the real issue here (how ridiculous his heal can be at times) but its FAR from a lovetap.

"Fiora nerfs"

Is that a joke?

Better than nothing, since she's pick or ban on this patch. Any nerfs for her are welcome. Plus, the nerfs were to lower the impact she has early game due to her becoming a late game carry.

It's not better than nothing. It is nothing. They're reducing base stats that have no relation to how oppressive she is. She wins lane based on the fact she has no cost no cooldown %max hp true damage that heals her and gives her movespeed and can negate any attempt to trade back with Riposte and Bladework. She's a lategame carry designed to win all of her early trades in lane. She has no weak point over the course of a game, not because of her stats, but because of her toxic kit. A minor touch to her base armor and hp doesn't affect her at all. It's honestly a slap in the face from Riot. They go out of their way to "nerf" cancer champs by toning down the parts that aren't broken and leaving the broken things alone. And since every part of Fiora is broken, they tickled her base armor. It's an insult.

They also lowered her scaling health and her base health along with the base armor meaning she can actually lose trades for a bit in lane for the first few levels. I'll take the ability for her to lose trades early over her current state.

That's just it... she still won't lose early trades, because her kit negates that possibility. She'll poke your Vital for a chunk of damage, then get healed and have a burst of MS to just walk away. And if you attempt to commit to trade back, you get riposted. Her abilities negate the possibility to trade back.

If the player combos them correctly, then yes. Most champions have the potential to win trades IF their abilities are used at the correct times.

However, you as a player also have to know when to trade your opponent taking into account minion waves, cooldowns, mana pools, total health, etc. For instance, you're talking about level 3 and beyond Fiora. The base stats themselves really show up from levels 1-3. With this nerf you could out-trade Fiora, then zone her from reaching level three with these nerfs.

If you think base stats don't matter, then you know nothing about this game. Even a bit of HP matters A LOT in the early game. "She doesn't win lane because her base stats but because..." If her laning is too strong, nerfing her base stats will definitely reduce the strength of that. Right now she wins lane even if she messes up her skills now and then, and that's because her base stats were overbuffed in the hotfix (remember that she went from 42% to 55% by increasing base stats and decreasing CD on her Q.)
