Why do I have to play a game with someone in order to report them?

Champ select can often be much more toxic than any game. Someone says they are trolling pisses everyone off and ruins the entire game. The people doing this need to be punished because they are very immature. I think it would be fine if this feature was implemented because false reports would be easy to spot out via tribunal. So please add a way i can report someone quickly and efficiently without wasting 20 mins in a game with them first. I'm not the type of person to ever give up if they are on my team. I'm always the one trying to get better at LoL and climb elo. Just look at my account if you don't believe me. 800+ games and still silver for this season alone? How does that happen?

Agreed that there should be an option for this. Oftentimes, it goes unreported because:

  1. It's cumbersome to screenshot and email reports to support as opposed to having an in-game option for this.

  2. Someone dodges because they don't want to be on a team with the troll

It would also be nice for ranked to have some functionality where is someone is reported so many times pre-game, they are given a time penalty or held from joining further ranked games until it can be reviewed in tribunal. Oftentimes, queuing up after someone dodges because they don't want a troll on their team, the troll is just reshuffled onto one of these teams again and the process repeats itself.

Duo-queue improves drastically the matchmaking process and trolls are way less often seen. Find a friend and duo-queue.

you can screenshot it and send to support to report people in the pre-game lobby
