Impossible to play this game

Every single game is the same, i join a game, if i don't get a rager at the start who instalocks it's already a blessing, and when the game starts, 1 out of 3 things happen: 1- One or more of the lanes feed the enemy to oblivion; 2- A guy who disconnect at the start or never connected, and reconnects 10 minutes later when we already lost the entire lane. 3- Smurfs, smurfs EVERYWHERE

It's pretty much impossible to play this game, as someone who plays DotA 2 and is trying out league, i am impressed at the huge number of disconnects, and the lack of a system to prevent it or help a bit. For example, in DotA 2, if someone disconnects before first blood and doesn't come back in 5 minutes, the game is canceled, also we can pause the game, which helps when you need to wait for someone to reconnect.

Riot figures pause and game resets will be heavily abused. here's their scenario:

ADC has fed 9 kills, gotten 2, and is nearly 100 CS down. absent a massive throw, you're losing. You have 1 tower to 7, 2 inhibs down. Now, IMHO, the best option here is surrender: the game is over, it's just formality. No one's "learning" anything, iv'e never been there and seen a chat log suggesting my teammates are actually enjoying themselves. however, that still comes with full LP loss. So the theory is that they will rage, spit, curse, and generally do their level best to make the final bit of duration hell for the ADC until he quits, then get a game reset instead of a loss. Social drophacking, as it were.

As for the pause function, imagine each player gets 5 minutes of pause time. A team of 5 connected on skype could wait for a teamfight, start pause, let it get to like 3:50 or some random and unpredictable time, then they'd all be ready right as it starts where the other team has to snap back to it, and it has a risk of mimicking 2 AFKs or so right at the start of an important fight.

I think these assumptions are inaccurate, and reports of these strategies should be investigated quickly and punished with extreme harshness to exterminate that part of this community, but Riot figures it's better to let us play a 5v4 and lose our promos without a fair game.

Just get to high elo. It's way less of a problem there. Until then, practice using ARAM or against bots or that kind of thing. At the very least, try being level 30 and then trying out summoner's rift against actual players. The match making is a lot less bad there.
