Target champions only + player attack move?

So I just started using the 'Target Champions Only" toggle but I still use "Player Attack Move" to see my rage and for kiting and I noticed that specifically the Player Attack Move command will override hitting only champions. Is this intended or can you have Player attack move only attack champions?
