Athenes should build out of Forbidden Idol instead of Chalice

Tl;dr I like to build on {{ but not so it would feel better if it built out of instead

Hi I'm new to boards but hopefully this is the right place for balance suggestions.

I've played a lot of Sona recently and tried to figure out how to build her but athenes is really awkward in that it might be worth it but you're wasting gold on a chalice you don't want. It would feel much better for Sona (and probably other athenes champs too) if it built out of forbidden idol instead.

transcript of the video in case you can't watch, it doesn't all make sense without the video but hopefully it gets the point across: Alright so this is someone learning sona making a mistake in his build, he buys a chalice. And that’s a mistake on Sona because the idea behind chalice is for healers with a lot of mana regen it converts that into health regen, except sona automatically heals herself every time she presses w so the bonus health regen is wasted on her. So chalice sucks on sona, but the problem is athenes has the blood charges passive which is great on sona, so athenes is actually good. And what this means is it’s a really awkward and unintuitive item where it has nice stats and a cool passive but it also has a useless passive that feels really bad to get. So as things stand now you’re stuck in this really confusing spot where you’re not sure if you should get athenes or not, and I’ve played tons of sona games with and without it and even done some math to try to figure out if it’s worth it and honestly I still don’t know.

So what I’d rather athenes built out of instead of a chalice is a forbidden idol. I think forbidden idol is a great item, maybe just because I play champs like janna karma sona lulu but I feel like that item gives exactly what you want on healing and shielding champs. And so if athenes built out of forbidden idol it would feel much better to get it on the champs that want to buy it for the damage converting passive. Sona is the big one but apart from sona there’s probably ivern and karma and maybe lulu that build athenes and they definitely like building forbidden idols too.

So it would feel much better if athenes built out of forbidden idol instead of chalice, it could be like the forbidden book or something. And I don’t just want to hate on chalice here, I just think the harmony passive is sort of awkward for champs that want to go athenes. But it’s not like chalice is a stupid item that should be completely removed from the game, I actually think it has a really good niche on soraka because hp is a really important resource for her, but soraka builds crucible so changing athenes to build out of idol wouldn’t affect her.
