Like where?

His ultimate is too hard to use for a nuke.

His W requires exceptionally good prediction, idiot melee champs and/or the enemy team having no mobility whatsoever (no Flash)

His Q has a whopping .1 AP ratio first hit. Don't even get me started on trying to land the 2nd part without being in their face.

All that's left is his passive and E. E is mediocre mobility spell and his passive requires 3 procs, and you definitely need to be in melee to fulfill that.

Yeah man, he's so OP that he manages to be the most banned mid laner and the lowest win rate mid laner at the same time. We can do better. 80% ban rate and 40% win rate is the goal boys!

I'm not going to pretend I don't have a bias, I really wish he were never created. I don't care if he can be balanced or not. His concept is appalling to me.

I play him for fun because hes fun as shit, but he is such an easy loss rn.

I hate Ekko, friends even poke fun at me how stern I am/was whenever I tell people to ban him every single game, in his current state he is manageable to deal with, where improving his animations a bit isn't much of a buff, more of a QOL fix.

Still a harassing bitch in lane, but he is manageable.

People ban annoying champs. like Ekko or LB but they are in fact fairly weak outside of niche cases. For example, Ekko barely qualifies as viable outside of the JG. They are frustrating but not OP and sport some of the lowest winrates in the game. People just ban champions that are unpredictable/have high burst but stuff like Runeglaive Ezreal doesn't actually perform that well.

To sum up, Ekko is highly overrated and not a great choice in most situations. Those who complain about him now do so through a narrow and unobjective lens.
