Why maps are not horizontal?

Hello there to all the community and the rioters, my ign is KhalKheos and I'm an italian player. I was wondering about a topic that is hunting me a lot: horizontal maps. I belong to the repulsing (said by many lol) part of the community that uses the lock view, although I tried so hard to use the unlocked one, I can't focus on playing good and moving around the pointer to fix my view on the map, that is just not my thing and I've tried so hard. So why maps in 5v5 are not horizontal? Or at least, why there's not a tool that allows you to rotate in the 4 cardinal points the map, and play the angle you find comfortable with? Sides are random in the maps, so I don't see the utility to putting side and creating disadvantages on some teams. For me, when I play botlane right side, it is impossible to play (and causing 100% of bad plays). If you make us choose between locked and unlocked screen, you should also putting us in condition of play in square or rhombus maps (the latter being with perfectly horizontal midlane, to be clear). This is the reason I haven't played 5v5 in months and won't do so, since I only play 3v3 with the perfect map, for me. Let me know how many of you share my point or not in the poll below and thank you everyone for the attention.

Thank you again and have a good day everybody!

playing with unlocked camera is one of the core skills you should have.

even if it's hard in the beginning, you have to learn it.

It's so messy and confusing, I need to not concentrate about moving around the pointer and focus more to what is happening. Also moving around the pointer takes you time you should spend on moving or cast spells or whatever. That is my opinion, so not really that "core" skill there.

it is.. no pro/high-elo player plays with locked camera.

I played with locked camera too the first levels until i got told exactly the same i'm telling you now. I also had hard problems with unlocked camera first (like pretty much everybody), but I forced myself to play with unlocked camera.

Trust me, it will feel natural after some time, so that you don't even have to concentrate on it anymore. just try to take the sensitivity down in the options and put it up again when you are getting used to it.

but with locked camera you often don't get the whole picture of a fight which is why unlocked camera is a core skill.

Surely will be a "noobies" problem, but I still think that maps not being horizontal are a big issue since you don't choose where to be put in. Why does a team have to play in disadvantage just for map positioning? (commonly, right side being the difficult one, left the easy one)

There is an option that offsets the camera a little bit towards the bottom left, if you play on the right side (red team). Is that turned on for you?

No, where is it? Anyway my point was about horizontal maps, not lock/unlocked view ^^ But thank you for the advice!

You really shouldn't play with the camera locked on your position. It is something of a bad habit that will hurt you in the long run. A locked camera severely limits your vision.

Many of argued the map issue a long time as it creates some obvious imbalancements and some not so obvious one. Many have even gone in to depth with it. If I could link them to you I would but I didn't save the links. I do agree the map should either be horizontal or vertical, but the diagonal has existed since Dota and has been the norm ever since.
