Since preseason release i have found myself gravitating towards Kog because of his cool 5.0 AS. This opens up an entirely new kind of adc build. I will go through my phases starting from my first (EVO) to my last (EVO).

(EVO 1) This first evolution i was enthralled by having 100% crit and 5.0 AS. I also routed this direction because of the nature of the meta ending so fast it was impossible to get full build before the end of the game. I decided with Kog that building boots was sort of silly because his chase sucks and his mobility is already trash so I went with what he is (glass Canon). item 1055 item 2003 item 3134 item 3094 item 3087 item 3085 item 3156 item 3091 item 3072

(EVO 2) This one i started to take out the crit and stacking procs and implemented more continuous proc dmg. I realised real quickly that my dps went up alot. It also allowed me to start shredding tanks by 4th item. The build, built pretty fast still. I kept the item 3094 because while in lane phase the poke was fantastic. I also dropped item 1055 because of the slight more cost of this build i needed to make it up somewhere else. item 1042 item 2003 1 item 1037 item 1043 item 3094 item 3091 item 3124 item 3153 item 3085, item 3156 oritem 3072

(EVO 3) this evolution i took it as far as i thought i could with the on hit damage and it worked as far as DPS goes, it was a trip how much split AP and AS AA dmg was done. i omitted item 3094 now because i wanted to get rid of stacking procs, i also at this point turned my back away from crit on kog because i felt he was doing best through cheep effect items. item 1042 item 2003 item 1037 item 1043 item 3091 item 3124 item 3153 item 3115 item 3085 item 3072

(EVO experimento) This newest build is very similar but i dont know if it fits meta yet, The games end so quickly i honestly am not sure it works. This build does also do starting at full build 2700dps and decreases to about 2200 dps over 10 or so seconds. You will see why. i added in item 3070 and start stacking for it after first back. The rest of the build is the same except i reversed item 3115 and item 3153 due to noticing in game that tanks dont start to come to life till my 4th item. Then the big change was the item 3042 and item 1083. The item 1083 was the answer for the item 3070 cost wise. It pays for a midgame burst in gold and helps accelerate through item 3124. And of course the item 3042 is the big item in question here because i am finding now the game is ending before I get to item 5 built. If it builds god help the enemy team. But it is kind of a sacrifice early game because of the item 3070 item 1083 item 2003 item 1037 item 3070 item 3091 item 3124 item 3115 item 3153 item 3042 item 3156

anyways i would love to hear your comments on this, i know KogMaw is not meta right now. But i feel he has a place with the right builds.

Enjoy*[zombie-brand-mindblown]*

I've tried Mura on Koggy (over on Dominion where stacking it is even faster) and the amount of hurt it puts out is crazy. However, with the change to W's scaling I've started to lean away from attack damage because it doesn't provide Koggy with the potent multiplicative power that it once did.

Right now, there are three items with three-fold multiplicative power on Koggy, item 3124 item 3115 item 3091. The first two provide OnHit, attack speed, and AP to amp the power of all three of the OnHit effects. Wit's grants OnHit and attack speed, in addition to MR shred to amp said OnHit power. So instead of items that add some more OnHit effects that don't amplify each other, I would suggest getting items to amp the OnHit damage Koggy already has.

To that end, Voidstaff is a wonderful option. The last item would be whatever AP item the situation demands.

This build hurts (a lot) but you're glassy and wholly immobile.

There's another option, though.

Kog can instead grab Rageblade and Wit's while forgoing Nashor's in favor of building defense. Beyond those two items, new items added to the mix don't boost Koggy's damage by that much. If you are dealing 1/4th less damage while being three to four times as durable, that strikes me as a net win. Because people are going to dive you and there's very little to be done about it.

I don't really like ap on kog maw. His w damage is so pitiful if you actually see how much it does. Around early/mid game It was doing about 11 damage to lucian. That means that I'd have to hit lucian like 100 times with just the W effect to kill him. With 5 attacks/second that is still 20 seconds...

My favorite kog build that I've tried is:

item 3153 item 3042 item 3508 item 3031( item 3086 item) and a situaional item This build basically turns you into Keanu Reeves. It's pretty disgusting if you can manage to finish the build, but it's not that strong really. The problem is that playing kog is 1 nail in your coffin and then buying tear on an adc is another nail in your coffin.

Kog maw is a cool character but there are so many things wrong with him that I want to make a thread myself. The just of it is that he doesn't scale with ap, ad or attack speed naturally. He only scales well once you buy specific items for him and even then those items get outscaled very quickly by ad and crit.

Why Witt's End before Guinsoo? I'm a bad adc, so I'm more inclined to think there is a good reason but I just can't see it. Guinsoo seems so strong, currently. (But ok, I've been traumatized by Jax, so I don't know, maybe I'm biased.)

Also, did you try some very greedy starts, like Mana Crystal +3 potions, then upgrade to tear + pickaxe at first back? It's 400+875 = 1275g, a typical amount for a first back. And it gives you 3 potions, so lots of sustain early.

honestly, my favorite thing about kog'maw right now is his ability to go true hybrid and buy some AP to beef up his spells- sure, his DPS goes down a bit, but his DPS is already absurd, and having reliably high damage on your E and especially your ult makes kog very interesting to play.
