Also, this is probably the worst so far, but I've been against very high mmr players quite consistently this week, quite aggravating.

what problem? oh you mean something that has been happening since the game started? non lvl 30s playing against lvl 30s? if so sure that is an issue, stupid people complaining about "X guy is challenger i am Silver why am i getting him on my NORMAL games!?" well because NORMAL AND RANKED MMR are two entirely different things! "actual fixes" by "actual fixes" you mean pretty much make normal games become ranked games. That's all it will happen when you unite both MMRs so at that point why even have a normal matchmaking then? if people are actually not being asses then there is not an issue with playing against a better player. You are learning things by playing against someone better that could even be willing to give you some pointers. If someone is literally harassing you then that's an issue. Sorry but there is no "actual fix" to be had other than "lets kill normal games"

so what you are telling me is that it's ok for someone to come and curse others, threaten to kill others, be pretty much nothing but a gigantic assholes and pretty much just leave them alone because "it happens in other games" sorry but no, that is not acceptable in the slightest. if that was the only thing they said then sure, but then they keep on and on and on and on and on and on it gets really annoying to deal with someone that only knows how to annoy and frustrate. Every single other game does the exact same thing, Riot isn't the only game that focuses on HEALTHY player interaction, not on some douche that thinks that because it's an online game he can just say whatever he wants whenever he wants. Hell others games you have the advantage of just leaving the area, changing to a new instance or just logging off for a small while to deal with them while in league you have to deal with that person for 20+ mins and just muting them isn't enough since they can just keep annoying you in other ways (taking your cs, feeding, taking your buffs, leading the enemy to you... etc)

Amelie4 votesI agree with that statement, but how were those opponents similarly skilled? The highest rank on his team was a Plat 5. The highest on the enemy was a Diamond 3 (not to mention the other Diamond player). That is a HUGE difference...

If the diamond player barely playued any normal games his normal mmr is going to suck ass! you already see lvl 30s against non lvl 30s what rank the lvl 30 is, is irrelevant. Think about it; his team member is gold, he isnt level 30. Whats matchmaking going to do? If the enemy team has a bunch of golds as well, then hes still the weight. If the game has a bunch of under 30s, then the gold player is going to have a field day feasting on everyone.
Normals NEEDS to be able to allow anyone to play with anyone. 4 challenger players have a friend who just joined the game, so now you have 4 challengers and a level 1 playing the game together on normals. How are you going to balance that? Theres no way you can. You cant just wait for 4 more challenger players to queue up for a normals game.

let me ask you this then, what would be the point of having normal games if both the ranked mmr and normal mmr would be the same? no difference in opponents, no difference in how to play the game, no difference in anything since both are tied you won't go to normals and try something new or just have some fun. Normal matchmaking is there for you to have fun and try stupid things, high ranked players barely go there and when they do is to try something stupid and have fun.
New players will continue playing the game based on their preferences not random things i can say. If people are toxic guess what? report them so they can be dealt with

why though? is there any reason not to have ranked mmr factor into normal mmr to create better balance beteen the matches?
every season break is pretty much a clown fiesta in normals, because every player who otherwise exclusively plays ranked and has a high ranked mmr and a low normal mmr goes into normals. games are mixed matches between bronzies and d1 players during that time.
i wouldnt expect normals to be balanced, but such extreme differences in mmr could be avoided imo.
it doesnt help the ranked players either. when they want to try experimenting with new champions and builds and just get to play against a bunch of bronzies and unranked palyers they would stomp on ad soraka, they dont get any valuable feedback on how good well that champion/build works in a ranked game at their level.

Pika Fox2 votesExcept the issue you seem to be missing is that matchmaking is blind. Its intentionally made to be; your normals MMR and ranked MMR are entirely separate. The game has 0 idea that the person is diamond in normals Queue.
And lets be real here; if they are diamond in ranked, theyll rank up in normals similarly eventually.
