Am I the only irelia main who would prefer pre 8.15 irelia? Curious from other irelia mains

Honestly, I preferred original Irelia before the rework - her kit was fine the way it was. However, as always, Riot had to say "BUT SHE NEEDS FLASHY SHINY NEW ABILITIES!" and proceeded to turn her into...something. Constantly nerfed/buffed/nerfed, they seem to have no idea what they really want her to be - one second her abilities do the most damage, the next its her auto attacks.
Here's a crazy idea, how about letting the players decide what they want? Might help. I see all this "our vision for the game" crap all the time, well if you have nobody playing League it won't matter very much! New Irelia is far weaker, pre-rework she countered Yi and now he counters her. Frankly, I'd be comfortable using Irelia top with the pre-rework knowing what she can do, but this one is far too weak from the start - constantly nerfing her and changing your mind on her "identity" is going to ruin her even worse.

We'll how can riot fix this if no ones helps share what they like/dislike, I too am frustrated though on the constant changes i. It really does throw lots of people off who play her. that's what the new patch 8.15 did to me and others recently. I feel for you though on how you didn't like change when you we're having so much fun, i can related so much now and sort of hate what she has lately become as of 8.15. i enjoyed her still on 8.13-8.14 even if she was nerfed a ton; her more unique playstyle was still there.
Take presence of mind on irelia. Your ult cooldown is reduced by 10% per kill/assist. Considering irelia is more useful with ult then w/o it's a very good rune on her, and makes you able to work with the changes they gave to her.

Maybe, i'll give it a try next time i play her; If i decide to do so
I didnt like it. She is not a new champion, she is Irelia. Her theme might be the blade dancer bs but what matters is her gameplay. She was and SHOULD be an AA duelist like prerework. PAtch 8.15 made her dueling and laning finally decent, she is similar to how she was prerework.

tbh i 100% disargee because you're bias of the old irelia pre rework, and yes riot did intend her to be something different you do know that right, it's why they reworked her. second themes are tide to gameplay bias on the champion, example zed has shadows, yasuo wind etc. irelia's was blade dancing but now it feels like she's predominately a AA champion instead of what they we're intended to make her after rework. check the champion release page for yourself she wasn't suppose to use AA predominately over her q-er mechanics. And now it's thrown her character off imo and a lot others which loved the rework

To put frankly me and A lot others didn't learn and play the new "blade dancing themed rework irelia", for her to be somewhat reverted to pre-rework and say "here just right click instead with your passive, don't use you're q-er mechanics you've loved and trained the whole time since rework".
Why does Reddit/Boards think there is no skill in AA? If Riot didnt want to intend her to be an AA relient bruiser then they wouldnt give her that passive of hers nor would they give her fucken 200 range.

Boohoo I cant abuse the R+Q instawin teamfight anymore!!! Get over yourself. Irelias rework wasnt made to make her a new champion but to make her more up to date. Otherwise they wouldve reworked the iconic Q but they didnt. She still has a stun, AA relience, a small amount of lifesteal and AOE. But thankfully now with 8.15 she plays similar to how Irelia should be played.

you seems a bit..tilted about the rework so i'm done with you lmao. but q-r wouldn't instant win every team fight if you're fighting a decent team or you mess up your resets btw all i have to say. the new AA irelia doesn't shine as bright as pre 8.15 because she has to weave in consistent autos now. I'm not saying it's bad so calm down but (IN MY OPINION) it takes away from the refined blade dancing theme riot was going for after rework. (NO MATTER WHAT YOU WANTED HER TO BE, riot made her kit around q-er reset mechanics, the passive that yes increase your dps but it could also provide 300% damage to shields to assist the damage through her dancing q-er resets so that you could kill easier without using autos) here this is how riot said she was to be played -----> As Irelia, you dance across the battlefield in a whirl of death, leaping from one enemy to another with devastating choreography. Use Flawless Duet to initiate the performance, slashing at unexpected angles to leave opponents marked and stunned. Rush in as your Ionian Fervor rises, flowing effortlessly from one mark to the next with Bladesurge.
When enemies attempt to assemble against you, split them apart with Vanguard's Edge. then return to your rhythm with another Bladesurge sequence, making swift work of those that remain.
riot from what it looks like made it sound as if Ionian Fervor was to aid Bladesurges damage potential rather then be the main source in general. "Rush in as your Ionian Fervor rises, flowing effortlessly from one mark to the next with Bladesurge." Not auto attack after you're Ionian fervor rises. But instead says bladesurge
I'm not saying auto attacking is bad but i miss the playstyle before, even if the numbers on dmg weren't high or OP. what i miss is the constant dance for damage instead of auto attacks that's what i miss, and it's what patch 8.15 took away from us (the new irelia lovers after rework). riot showed us a unique playstyle, then took it away that's what i'm getting at. Even if old irelia was intended to be AA reliant, the new one after rework wasn't. Riot description on how she was to be played said so, her damage was based around her kit mainly rather than her autos. i don't mind either way i just don't want to not do negative damage on my q or even how it feels way less unrewarding to dance as a blade dancer now on 8.15. Some of this is my own opinion and some is fact.
i wish frankly that you guys kept the old irelia's AA playstyle while we had more q-er dancing mechanic champion why'd one thing have to go for another to be added. We both like different things but it's only one champion. Basically tons of the old irelia mains/fans are happy, but lots of the newer ones like myself are angry after 8.15.
DDUK that Old Irelia was known as " the will of blades " ? Her rework made her quite in tact of that theme.

we'll now it's blade dancer...so i don't get your point tbh
You're not the only one. She's getting needlesly hard to play cause you just can't engage until your passive is fully stacked anymore. And it's not super easy to stack in early game when your Q does 0 dmg.
I decided to watch some challengers and pro players to see how they handled the changes and it looks like she requires riddiculous amount of skill only to let her opponent live with 10 hp after you applied ignite... It happened in around 10 games and then I ran out of OTPs from my server that still played Irelia :O
She was unique before 8.15 and had tools to come back after going 0/2 in lane. Now the latter is still likely to happen but the teamfight potential is gone. If Riot wants Irelia top lane so bad then maybe she should at least get her stun back so that she could throw in an extra auto and actually kill her target?
Let's compare Irelia's current stun ability to other top laners :
-Camille - point and click, 1 sec stun with quite impressive range, -Fiora - conditional 1 sec stun on skillshot, -Riven - 0,75 sec stun (once she's already in aa range to the target) -Irelia - 0,75 sec stun on telegraphed skillshot which is gone the moment she hits her target with Q
It doesn't give her much dueling potential. It worked well as a marking skill while she still had some dmg on her abilities. Now it's a CS tool that's useful when you need to run away or jump on a jungle creep. When you actually start to land it it's even worse cause Lee Sin syndrome kicks in and more often than not you just get killed fighting 4 people and realise you should play Kled instead...
