Serious Discussion: Dr. Mundo

Not Mundo·1/5/2016, 4:20:20 PM·1 votes·1,906 views

Why is Dr. Mundo either VERY LOW win rate/ ban rate or VERY HIGH?

What are some causes to this? Why did his ban rate go UP after he recently got nerfed?

What would be ways to balance him, in a way so that he isn't so heavily effected by masteries?

Should his kit be nerfed or masteries be nerfed? What would you feel be appropriate? Maybe more time is needed?

Note: Last season more or less the same happened, Dr. Mundo became OP, his kit got nerfed several times before nerfing the masteries. He then became one of the weakest and unpopular champs in the game. This season new masteries has made him OP again, and he got nerfed but still being banned in almost every game.

Thanks for reading and for input.

Because Mundo is largely a stat check champion besides his Q.

Champions that lack in actual mechanic checks (ie room to outplay or be outplayed) tend to be like this see Akali Tryndamere Vladimir Yorick Warwick Taric are some examples of other champions who suffer from it.

When they're strong there is very little to no counter play, so the end up dominating, while when they're weak or ok they lack a fallback pattern for being behind, so disappear from play.

What would you feel be appropriate?

tl;dr needs a rework of sorts because stat check champions tend to be incredibly swingy in performance like this.

Why did his ban rate go UP after he recently got nerfed?

It wasn't really a nerf (besides to his jungle) his Q still does same dmg at rank 1 & 5 just smoothed the scaling in-between.

And because other champions who were being banned were actually nerfed some, so Mundo's priority as a ban increased.

Did you never play Mundo prior to his E buff? Mundo is definitely a late game champion. The buff to his E just made him very powerful early as well. I can understand that he was entirely lacking as a jungler cause of all the previous nerfs, but that E buff was a bit much. In my own opinion, that first hit on E should have reduced damage on champions so it's still effective for farming and jungling, but not giving a late game champion a powerful early game as well.

The ignite nerf was a big factor for mundo getting stroger. He can heal more now even with grievous and every outside heal is fully effectiv, ignoring the grievous wounds. Champions like mundo and Volibear are very strong now, especialy mundo with his ult being an insane regen steroid. imo, they should buff grievous wounds. Not only they nerfed the heal reduction but they made outside heals fully effective. Either revert those changes, or buff the heal reduction to 60% maybe more. Because, now, not only you heal up more on your own but others also heal you with no problems to it's effectiveness. This is totaly broken
