Zoe + smite + unsealed spellbook
so i get it says if you get smite you wont have access to smite items.
What if i start the game with smite. then i switch to something else. do i get the smite item? Do i have to build the smite item before i swap?

You do still get the smite items I think, but unless you're the jungler, you have zero reason to get smite in the first place.
If you start the game with Smite, then yes you can get the smite item.
Although why in the world you would want to is beyond me
because zoe works great with ludens, and if u get the jg ludens (cheaper, not as great stats, but still good). and at any point in time in the game you'd like to help secure baron/drag you can just swap to it.
Helps with your laneclear. and you can back 2 min into the game, swap smite to tp, and get a eraly back too.
as far as i know you only need
