@Meddler Unexpected Ashe Nerfs

We all know that Ashe is pretty strong right now. But the nerfs on the PBE headed to live I did not expect. Especially since her perma slow is free... I would actually expect a range nerf on Ashe. Why? Well the closest passive that serves a similar purpose is Sivir's. According to Riot, Sivir has very low range due to the fact that theoretically the ms buff you get would allow for free trades... Both passives serve the purpose for kiting. Ashe allows your teammates to create spacing and can be used more for catching people off as your teammates start arriving on the scene. Sivir's can be used for selfish dodging on top of her ult. I sometimes wonder if phage's passive was changed for this reason; Riot wanted to make triforce useful again but didn't want to give phage back power to its slow. Sivir's Selfish vs Ashe Team-play passive share similar characteristics of kiting but have different advantages.... Not sure where I'm going with this but I just find it odd that Riot didn't balance this way. Thoughts?

ur right but she's not Trollista so she will prob. be nerfed because she doesn't bring the cash into Rito's bank

The difference between Ashe passive and Sivir passive.

At level 1 Ashe's passive is a 5% slow reducing a champs movement speed from 330 to 314. This slow is so insignificant in early trades that Ashe's auto animation and very low MS will cause her to be unable to force free trades against similarly ranged (down to around 550) ADCs when played by a competent player, unless of course the support lands a CC.

Sivir's passive at level 1 offers her 30 MS, in addition she has a very high base MS for an ADC of 335, 10 higher than Ashe. When Sivir autos a champ her movement speed increases to 365 at level 1 where her opponents will often have around 330 move speed. In addition to this Sivir has a very short AA animation as well as a reset. This means with a longer range Sivir would not trade 1 auto for 0 but rather 2 for 1, and this would be completely unavoidable and very hard to capitalise on due to the MS off of her passive.

Also small range nerfs have a habit of causing huge swings in viability. Just compare release Diana to her state after her first set of nerfs.
