I don't understand Flex que?
maybe it's because my ranks are similar (gold 5 in solo, silver 4 in Flex) but I am seeing that I am getting placed against other people similar to my solo rank in the Flex queue, I thought they would be separate?

Mysticman891 votesThey are separate, however the initial mmr for flex was based on solo queue rank.
As a result, people are mostly ending up with people around their solo queue rank, since they were dropped by around the same amount of mmr to get their starting flex rank, and flex is new enough that people haven't reclimbed and had things level out.
