Olaf never left the meta--or rather what i mean to say is he never lost effectiveness. Just like how sejuani wiggled her way back into the current meta, she was always even before now an incredibly good champion. She just happened to lose popularity at the time but was always a strong pick.

In my opinion the same could apply to Olaf.

not true, sej got a very good buff and had the addition of cinderhulk to the game. She was pushed back into the meta, same with olaf right now. He got a buff and is seeing mroe play, he was very much out of the meta before that. Sej was way way way out of the meta before her buff with like a 2% play rate. Meta means what is normal or current to pick that will most likely always be a olid pick at teh current time in league. Olaf is not that (maybe a little more now) and sej definitely wasnt before her buff and cinderhulk

Yes im very well aware of what the term meta means. But my point--my only point is that a champion being out of the particular current meta doesn't necessarily equal them being a bad pick or champion. Olaf is a good champion. He has his strengths and weaknesses, favored match ups like any other in or out of the meta.

Ya know like how the old ashe was pretty sh*tty and out of the meta, but that didn't stop people that knew how to make her work from making a big impact in the games they played with her.

Really sejuani was always good. She is better now, yes, but was still very good before.

You mean that change where they gutted her late game damage in order to convince people to max W first?

you almost always maxed w first, q second. Max health scaling on a low CD auto attack enhancer on a tank is pretty stupid. look at gragas, funny how they both have that and they are the 2 most banned junglers in the game. People can dodge the q when it used to have the max health the w is aoe and an auto attack. not to mention she got some pretty good ratios on her q to compensate considering its a hard cc ability and her e was buffed. Cooldown on her ult as well. Pretty large buff combined with the release of cinderhulk pushed her over the edge

Which is why maxing Q was bad, yet people still made the mistake unreasonably often.

This is true, however i make a point of playing my best champs regardless of the meta and people should be doing that. Who cares who everyone else is playing and the lcs players are doing? I will get to challenger with darius nasus and udyr idgaf
