Dear MF players: do you actually like how double up works? if so, why?
Just something I've been curious about. I get that there's an order to what it prioritizes, but it still seems kind of unreliable to me. Just wondering what players think of it.

I like it because you're able to poke at the enemy adc by hitting one of the minions in front of them. It's easy to do and I've found that when I'm ahead in minions early game and if I have a pokey support, I'm really able to whittle them down quickly enough to pop my ult and boom.
Its also nice late game when the enemy is grouped 5v5, it allows me to poke without being directly targeted, I could bounce one off of their tank up front and land it on their adc, plus with my added damage from my static shiv, It's fun.
Its ALSO good, for when you've got their adc low health and their running away infront of their support, You're able to q their support and watch it bounce to them for the kill, its an easy last hitter.
double up is good on minions as well. If you've got 2 low health minions next to each other but the enemy minions are going to kill one of the two before you can auto them both, just stand in front of one and q, boom no missed farm.
However, Its nearly worthless in a 1v1
Yea, I just feel like the skill is kind of random in it's targeting, it seems like you kind of spam them out enough and hope that you poke your opponent down (or at least when I play her, whenever I see another player on her they seem to understand how the targeting works much better). I feel like it could be made more useful, like what if they increased the cooldown but made it hit every target in a cone behind the initial one, like Bard's auto attacks once he gets enough meeps? It would at least be slightly more predictable then?
Like I get there are cool niche situations to use it in, but given that it's low mana cost and low cooldown, it seems like it's more of a spam-and-hope-you-hit-them type of spell than one that has more deliberate use. Maybe I'm missing something.
It's great for poking and chasing people down. Like I've had a few times where I've had an ADC or Support running away at low health and used Double Up on the closer champ and scored a kill.
The only problem is the finicky prioritization. I think it should prioritize any champion within range instead of directly behind him. Any good ADC won't stand still for too long to last hit and attack minions. Also, like BlackHorizon said, it's useless in 1v1. It should deal 2 hits of damage if there aren't any enemies in range.
Yea the prioritization is the part that gets me, I feel like it is less predictable or reliable than say, Lucian Q, which can be used to poke through minions as well. MF is supposed to be one of the easiest champions to play (according to riot), but to really make use of her Q seems to require a lot of knowledge and planning on how to position yourself to target the person you want, or you just have to spam them out and hope you get lucky?
it's actually pretty decent. it gives you like a 1000 range poke that typically prioritizes champions over minions but it also requires a bit of prediction
it's actually pretty fun, especially when you get a kill off of it
it doesn't work as effectively as a normal reset, but it also resets your auto attack timer
Yea, it just strikes me as an odd spell since it's low cooldown and low mana cost, like Ezreal Q, so I'd expect you to be throwing them out constantly in the game, but it feels like you either need a lot of experience to really understand the prioritization thing or just spam them out and try to get lucky, not to mention it has fewer use cases since it's targeted and requires two enemies roughly lined up in order to make full use of the spell. Some of the hierarchy doesn't make sense to me either, like it prioritizes champions who have a stack of impure shot, but I think you have to be in auto attack range to apply impure shot, which means you need to auto attack someone then either back up or target something between you to get them with the bounce?
well, that's sort of the point. she's a champion that's fairly balanced but still needs more power, but she harrasses well in lane and in team fights and if fed, just steamrolls over the enemy team
her q is meant to harrass people hiding behind minions or tanks or etc, caitlynn does this too, but hers is a skillshot, same with varus, jinx, etc, each with their own advantages

Right, I'm just saying MF's seems a little less reliable, like you have to battle the way the spell is coded in terms of priority, or just have a lot of experience dealing with it so controlling the bounce is second nature to you.
it's not even second nature, it's the angle you shoot it at, like in pool/billiards/etc
imagine a 30 degree cone behind your target where the center is the most likely target hit
it's easy to do that with positioning
Maybe I just need more practice on her to understand how it works, thanks :3
someone posted a complex list of the targetting priority for it on my previous post if you want to look at it, but I think it's way simpler than that
Yea I read that on the wiki, which is why I thought the skill was so complicated to use. I guess with some experience you start to intuitively get the feel of it. Thanks
yeah, but I think the more important thing to learn is skill maxing order and what percent of health it becomes impossible for your opponent to survive your ult. it does a lot, but MF is stationary during it, so if it's not a finisher, they likely got away

It's actually NOT that simple. There's actually an entire "list" of options it goes through to determine what gets hit by Double Up. This is datamined from the game and posted on the LOL Wiki site.

The second shot follows a priority order on targets within 500 units of the primary target: Enemy champions in a 40° cone with at least one stack of Impure Shots. Minions and neutral monsters within a 20° cone. Enemy champions within a 20° cone. Minions and neutral monsters within a 40° cone. Enemy champions within a 40° cone. Enemy or neutral units within a 110° cone. Enemy or neutral units within a 150-range 160° cone.
So, basically, a champ with Impure Shots stacked on them has priority over a minion. If no champs have impure shots, a minion has priority, And this is also dependent on the "Cone" radius going out from your initial target. It's a very aggrevating mechanic to perfect, and honestly ANY CHAMPION should be priority target over a minion regardless of stacks or not.
I consider it a key part of her kit. Since it allows easy poke if you position right, easy last hitting, and can get some surprising kills if used right.
With MF's rework, the only thing I feel they really need to do is clean up her current kit, and maybe add some new synergy with her W. And flat out making it more interesting. Like giving a buff similar to Ashe when you activate it and attack someone with max stacks.
Also her current passive NEEDS to not be canceled on minion hits. Garen got it a long time ago, MF could really use this change to. Well this is if they don't completely change it. But I like her current passive, makes dodging skill shots in lane really easy.
I agree with her Passive but rework on her kit wise should be aimed towards her E, make it rain. Only use for it is the slow, the damage is unreliable. Her W has synergy with her ult. Her ult increases the stacks she gains for her W ( means more damage per hit) and does the stack damage with a base amount per wave. It does a good amount of damage without being too oppressive.
I think the "rework" is just a visual update with some changes to her E attached, though it would be nice to have the passive change.
