If Akali Can't Keep Her Resistances...

and Kha'zix's defensive power was taken out of R, then is Katarina's E (15% reduced damage) next on the list? I don't think she's OP at all, I'm just wondering for the sake of consistency in the balance philosophy here.

I guess you might say "they have stealth and she doesn't." Well Talon did, and Kassadin didn't and neither of them silence anymore.

Assassins are really close to assassin fighters, where you bump into 100% damage block potential with champions like Yasou, Jax, Master Yi, Tryndamere, Poppy, Wukong, and more. Nothing enherantly wrong with defensive boosts on a squishy.

Thing with Kha'Zix and Akali is stealth but useful things when you're revealed is kind of awkward. Also in Kha'Zix's case it tended to cause him to go full bruiser-build with Randuin's and become Alistar status tanky to naviagate a fight, which seemed wrong. Having leap and stealth should be enough assassin-esque survivability.

With Katarina though - Katarina is a melee champion that throws herself into the middle of a team-fight and sits there for ~2 seconds to AoE things. Her mobility isn't about skirting around the battlefield, it's about jumping into a situation she does kind of need durability to work with. Most other AP carries focused on AoE (Mages) can nuke everyone from a pretty safe distance outside of the barrage of team-fight damage, where Katarina sits in the middle of it.

Kat is kind of OP. Most snowbally champ in the game. The problem is skill cap. Same as Akali. Too easy. Too much reward.

She wouldn't miss it if it were removed because it's really weak. Katarina doesn't Shunpo to reduce damage; she does it to avoid damage. That and the duration is so low that it doesn't really make a difference even if you intend to use it for that.

she probably will lose it one day but for now she isn't very strong and past attempts to redo her have failed

Kha' damage reduction was removed because players were using it as incentive to build him bruiser, this was not how Riot wanted the champ to go, he was meant to be a full on assassin. Talon and Kassadin both had their silences removed because it was being pointed out as an area of no contest. Kassadin could trade with opponents and get out without taking any return fire. Talon had to whittle hit target down a bit first, but when he was finally ready to assassinate someone, he could do it so fast that the target had no opportunity to do anything about it. If either of these champs got fed, well they could literally kill you before their silence ended. I'm not exactly sure why Riot changed Akali' shroud, I remember them saying they want her to do more Ninja-ee things. But I'm not quite sure what that meant.

Kat should only get damage reduction from using Shumpo on a non-ward ally. On enemies it already does damage, and ward hopping should be discouraged.
