@Riot. Why do autoattacks fail in midair if the owner dies?

You guys know what I am talking about. Lets say your target has 1 hit left, but so do you. You right click and launch an autoattack projectile. But you end up dieing while it is midair. The autoattack lands but now does zero damage.

Why? To me, it seems more like a flaw in the code, or an oversight that never got fixed. Thematically it doesnt make sense. If I throw a projectile, why does my death effect the projectile thats already mid-air on its way to its target?

Last game I got robbed of two separate 1 for 1s because of this. When it does matter, it is kind of a big deal. So I wanted to ask you riot, is this an intentional function? And if it is, why is it in the game?

Clearly, this makes Vel'Koz the best ADC in the game.

I dislike this scenario: I teleport away and I get away with just 200 health. The enemy ADC was just in time to shoot me though, but the projectile didn't hit before I teleported away.

And you die from a shot fired half a map away that still homes into you.

short answer, because u can cancel auto attacks while they are in mid air as well

I mean, it might make sense for ranged but not for melee, and though its a small change, it would give ranged even more strength over melee. That is why they never included it, because especially early on in development, Riot wanted to make sure there was distinct differences and trade offs to melee units.

that feel when in air for riven q and die in mid air and they would of died

Because there are such things as melee champs who wouldn't get this buff not to mention you should have the advantage if you attack first.

Also explain why melee attacks go off after I flash.

It would make sense for a realism standpoint, but it isn't like ranged champs need any more help. This is a video game. Some things are going to be unrealistic.

because you are controlling a magic creature/hero in a temporary magical arena where they die repeatedly and are brought back to life to fight again. The autoattacks are manifestations of the champion and dissapate when the champion is killed and awaiting respawn.

That work for you?

Because league isn't a game about 1 for 1's, the game is unfair for a reason. You need to make it as unfair for the enemy as possible to win, thats all there is to it.

Also, all of Ryze spells. Can be frustrating when you know that Q was supposed to kill them. item 3070 Ryze
