Akali is trash and is badly in need of buffs

As the title says...

Akali is currently sitting at a 48%-51% win rate: http://na.op.gg/champion/akali/statistics/mid https://champion.gg/champion/Akali/Middle?league=

It's only a matter of time Akali's win rate starts to decline and end up becoming release day Ornn 2.0 (39% win rate).

Q: Five Point Strike

Heal increased from 20/25/30/35/40% to 40% all ranks

W: Twilight Shroud

Cooldown decreased from 17/15.5/14/12.5/11 to 14/13/12/11/10 seconds

This needs to be in memes and games.

Calm down, she's been released for one day. People have absolutely no idea how to play her and the old Akali mains have a new champion to learn. 48-51% is astoundingly good for the first time players pick her.

lolalytics says she has 35% win rate this patch so far (first day so it doesnt matter but still). She seems kinda weak especially since she doesnt really have a good role imo. Jungle sucks, she has low base stats for top lane, and she doesnt have much to fight ranged champs with.

She used to be a mid. I've tried jungling her, and it's "okay" with the right runes (which don't happen to be the same runes as her lane), but yeah..... risky. I had to start a item 3077 to make it pretty viable.

In lane she really has to learn to be an auto attacker and energy conserver, and to only use Q on high Energy, and use the slow on her Q correctly.

My advice is this:

item 3146 item 3124 item 3100 item 3115

Believe it or not, Attack speed builds probably are going to carry her more than outright AP, because you can gain Energy faster and she's going to spend about 2/3 of her time auto attacking compared to the old one.

She can full charge a Guinsoo's in 4 hits, so it's really not a bad item, especially if getting ready to kill someone near a minion wave. Nashor's is an optional, but personally I think it's a great item.

Obvious bait

she's super weak.

her armor is one of the weakest in the game. her heal on her Q is pretty insignificant and requires her to sacrifice her old synergy with gunblade since her spells are aoe/multi target instead of single target.

so far the success i've seen with her is a duskblade build. since her AD ratios are higher than her AP ratios and getting penetration for magic is harder than lethality.

edit

oh and her reliance on her W is a bit harsh. the one thing that kills her more than anything is her pointless 0.5 second stun and the 3 second delay between her R's.

Her AD ratio may be high but it's more unreliable than AP because of the AP on hit items that synergize with her better.

Personally I like item 3124 item 3100 item 3146 item 3115 although I'm not opposed to item 3147 item 3074 Especially if jungling, the Ravenous is a must as it resets auto attacks.

E is still single target, so Hextech isn't bad. Her auto attacks and passive damage is also still single target, so don't know it. The only real difference is R; Q is comparable to her old E.

i'd say it's more reliable. since her E counts as 2 physical attacks that can be used for many things other than just attacking. it scales only off of physical damage. then of course her R's initial attack doesnt have that lame delay. if you look at the damage you get from an E that lands you get 2/3 of the hits needed to activate electrocute. electrocute scales better with AD than AP. if you throw down a smoke screen while traveling once you reach your destination you'll also use duskblade's passive. which is pretty nice. if you have a lich bane then you're getting the ap sheen on top of the duskblade and the electrocute, the passive empowered auto attack and the penetration + lethality all in one. idk. i think empowering your attack all in one go like that is way more reliable than trying to waddle back and forth in the ring trying to get in range to use your Q effectively.

I mean, the only thing that needs to be changed is the ult lockout tbh. It just doesn't feel right gameplay and mechanical wise. I remember the time when Ornn's ult had a lockout timer, and by removing it actually helped him. Maybe it would help if the lockout was .5 or removed.

  1. Ornn Ornn day one was actually a 54% win champ. People just didn't know him yet. I Mastery 7'd him in 2 days with S after S after S after S. Something like 17 wins in a row.

  2. Akali's kit is fine.

There's a major asymmetry between what she does to minions vs what she does to champs. I can understand feeling underwhelmed and gated by energy on her farm. But when you apply those same skills to champions, her Passive plays a role and just obliterates them. Fighting Champions also balances out her Energy gain out. She drains energy hard vs minions until fed. Vs Champs.... she doesn't run out.

My advice is: Get to 6, and get stalking, like you used to with Akali. Her new kit demands it. If you don't you won't succeed.
