Because they probably just looked up the entire library of swear words and censored all of them?
No one has the time to go through all swear words and judge individually if 1 word is more worthy of censor than another.

Idk it just feels funny to use turd as an insult, im guessing its only censored for its regular use because who wouldn't wanna be called a turd over an actual slur or insult.

Censored, but not bannable by itself (similar to fuck. Riot tantram himself even confirmed that you can say fuck without it being bannable). The in game censor is simply for people who'd rather not see shit like that, I don't see how that's a problem or affects you at all. If you don't want shit censored, don't use it.
