What is wrong with current Sona?
I want to know. My objective thoughts:
My Background: I main support ever since S1 and my numero uno support has always been Janna, but Sona's one of the top picks if I don't play Janna (And I'm talking competitively).
My Thoughts about Sona: You don't have to agree. I personally think Sona is a support that generally does well in bot lane. Frankly, I think she's one of, if not, the best bully as a support. But when Sona fails to do that job, she tends to fail the game as a support. A good ult from Sona can still be very beneficial, but Sona lacks peeling as a utility support. She has little follow-ups when a teamfight actually burst out, or even pre-teamfight warmups. In addition, Sona's kits are simple and predictable, I feel no surprising elements coming from her when facing an opponent Sona (Maybe a flash ult, but that's been done to death).
Her Strengths: High early-mid damage for a support, very deadly with Lich Bane. Provides good ganking opportunity. If succeed in lane can be very powerful to pressure enemy's team with both her stun and damage output. Easy to learn and rightfully rewarded if played correctly.
Her Weaknesses: Lack of peeling and mobility. Still useful on support builds, but more reliant on AP builds (leads to squishy and higher-aim target). Lack follow-ups and countered by most melee supports. Also, pretty simple to expect what she's capable of (little of things to do) so leading to easily getting bored when picking her up.
What I want to know: Why do you guys feel Sona in a bad state?
Personally, I don't think she's underpowered at all, maybe she can use a broader use for support items. She's pretty boring and frustrating to play against if the enemy's a good Sona.
