A small tweak for ignite...

Ignite has always had a little problem where either you get kills with it early on and snowball or end up with a summoner that is not as useful as others. Which is arguably what you get for having that extra power early on. However it is also occasionally used to shut down someone with excessive healing like Munro or Swain. So what if ignite had another passive unique to itself.

Add a passive to ignite where it not only reduces healing but also reduces shields in much the same way.

This would give ignite a place against teams with a hyper-carry whom not only lifesteals but also has that deticated support there with a seemingly endless stream of shields and heals. It would also help ignite to not fall off as much late game.

Now if ignite really needs something like this idk. It just seemed like a neat idea that might work well.

This runs into an issue in the way healing, grevious wounds, and shields interact.

Healing > Shields. Gaining 100 health is always better than getting a 100 health shield, because health lasts while shields fade. Grevious wounds > healing. Pretty obvious, wounds cuts healing in half. It is the counter to healing. Shields > grevious wounds. This is essential. Because shields are not reduced they are the counterplay to wounds.

It is like rock paper scissors. If rock (Ignite) beat both scissors (Healing) and paper (shields) then it has no counterplay, which is bad for the game.

It also means that there is no summoner spell you can pick into ignite, while currently Barrier is the counter to ignite (and the burst champs that like to use ignite) while heal is the counter to Barrier since it is health that lasts, and ignite is the counter to heal since it reduces it.

Okay that makes sense. And while I never wanted to imply that Grevious wounds should be changed, that is a really good point. It would make Barrier weaker as well.
