Aphelios has weird mechanics while my friend who is new to the game is trying to main him, his R varies from which weapon he has, which weapon is best with his R? If possible can somebody explain which is best for team fights and which is best for one on ones?

infernum good for teams that group, a waste of ammo if they scatter.

chakram good for teams that scatter or want to close the gap to aphelios.

severum for the caitlyn duels.

gravitum is kinda always useful but people will debate that so whatever.

forget what his last weapon is called but it's the useless one to be pressing R on, the lifesteal one, I mean maybe if there's a team of tanks on the other team but the offhand would be better regardless of what it is, this weapon is however really good at skirmishing without requiring a setup like the chakram.

So you have Calibrum, Severum, Crescendum, Infernum, and Gravitum.

Calibrum is basically a giant ass snipe.

Severum is useful for if you've been chunked out in a fight and want your HP back as you heal 200 / 300 / 400 HP (this healing doesn't stack with the amount of champs you hit), but because Aphelios will also automatically AA every single target hit by his ult so it will also apply Severum's healing effect on top of that.

Crescendum is the one for the most damage in a 1v1 situation because of how much DPS the chakrams provide. It produces three additional chakrams on top of those from the champs you hit (you can get up to 8 if you hit 5 champs).

Infernum is great for supplementary teamfight damage if the enemies are all stacked up on top of each other (think 5 man Amumu ult into Infernum Moonlight Vigil). Aphelios can win fights by himself with a well placed Infernum ult.

Gravitum is great for engaging or starting a teamfight as you get the AoE 99% slow into Gravitum's root if you keep it as your main weapon. If you have a team that can follow up on your CC it's bonkers.

Calibrum R is best for long-range 1v1s, finishing kills and securing picks, similar to Caitlyn R.

Severum R is best for turning 1v1s and teamfights, when you're low and you need to bait enemies into committing.

Gravitum R is best for setting up the engage for your team, similar to Ashe R.

Infernum R is best for chunking the entire enemy team, terrible for 1v1s.

Crescendum R is best for close-range 1v1s, as the added DPS from chakrams is immense.
