KNOW YOUR PING BEFORE THE GAME

All I'm asking for here today, is something that tells what your ping somewhere on the client.

I've seen and experienced so many games where either my teammates or I or both are lagging beyond oblivion. I'm sure everybody has felt the frustration of losing a game because your teammates were "lagging," and even more frustrating when you're lagging and people still report you for feeding.

I feel like being able to know what your ping is at before you join queue and game can solve a lot of frustration and tilt in game. Like, if you can see your ping as at like a solid 700 ms, chances are, you probably won't bother playing a game that becomes unplayable due to lag.

I get that you can check your ping online and use the Window cmd, but it would be a lot more convenient for players on client. And I'm pretty sure there's plenty of players that don't even know how to check ping anyways, so this addition would be even more useful

Plz riot, lemme see me pingitem 3070 item 3070

Ping does't work like that. Testing your ping with a few packets of data is not the same as the constant flow of being in a game. It would be extremely inaccurate and would just lead to a bunch of "But it said my ping was fine in the client!!!! Why am I lagging in game now!?!?!?!"

I'll also address anyone that suggests some sort of "Test" button where it simulates a load similar to being in a game. Not only would such a feature be extremely taxing on the server, it would also be like Riot practically begging groups to exploit it to crash the servers

its currently not actually possible to know your ping before the game, you can only give an educated guess.

Just finished a game that lasted 25ish minutes and our ryze only had 47 cs and 5500 ping rip in pepperoni

It would be great if Riot could implement something like this.

if you open the run console command on your computer and input the command "ping 104.160.131.1 -t" it gives you a pretty accurate reading on how it is

Edit - A better way to do it is to go to the start menu and search cmd, click the command prompt then input that command and it should give you an accurate reading, mine usually is off by at least 5-6 ping so if it says I'm at 30 ping I am usually around 35 actually.

I'm fairly sure that the ping is a changing thing for most people. Seeing as how it spikes for people and others are fine with it. It really just depends on your constant connection and everything that happens in the game and how much your computer can handle.

There is another feature that I would like to see on the new client.

It's called "Custom Item Sets".
