What was the point of blue essence?

Never mind all the lvl-ing people were talking about and how it actualy earns faster - but my question is - Why? It fixed nothing nor added nothing

You now instead have to waste your BE on mastery points if you want them and they too much for what they do (flashy emotes) (also this doesnt bother me as someone with all champs)

While on topic on having everything - BE didnt fix anything with people overloading with it. When BE Shop rolled out it was neat but as someone who at the time didnt have for ww skin but still had ALOT - i was thinking there would be something with it - Then emotes came out and instead of being BE dump - They were for RP - for some reason (Stop dying while typing - if that was the goal emotes would be team based and free and/or buyable but anyways of topic)

TL;DR

My point is that i still have a metric ton of Ip(BE) that i dont know what to do - and system is just mediocre at best (altho its easier for new players to get champs if they dont care about what it is so i guess thats a win)
