So, what happened between Comcast/Xfinity and Riot's NA servers?

So, I've noticed since yesterday my ping went from a stable ~30 ms to a noticeably less responsive ~70 ms with occasional spikes into the triple digits. This only seems to be affecting League of Legends on my end, so I'm curious to hear if something changed on Riot's end, or if other Comcast / Xfinity users have also experienced a much less stable connection to the NA servers in the last 24 hours or so.

I use Xfinity, and I haven't experience any ping spikes yet.

But with net neutrality gone, I can see it happening.

I had issues a few months ago. I called Comcast like 5 times over the course of a month before I finally got a person who knew how to do their job. They checked my connection and noticed that, as I thought, there was something happening on their end. They fixed it and it's been good since.

Before you call them, reset your cable modem just so you can tell them you already tried that. When they suggest trying it again, decline. If they try to convince you that the problem is on your end, don't be discouraged. Try to keep them on the phone and get them to look into it from their end. Either they will actually do it, or they'll make an excuse to get off the phone. If they end the call just call back and hope you get a different person. Like I said it took me like 5 tries over the course of a month.

My friend Rakan and I are both on Xfinity, and he experiences HUGE spikes, and I experience increased ping overall.

I have optimum. My ping was stable 31ms now its goes from 31 to 36 every 3 seconds it changes to the range between these numbers. this started happening on 1/28/2018 around after 5pm. I will be calling my ISP and see whats going on but i have not done anything to modify my connection on my end.

Not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but following the NN Vote on December 15th, 2017, I noticed a significant increase in my ping. I usually have a stable 43-48, but following that day, I've had 60+, and only once have I actually fallen BELOW 44 ping. Just a few days back, I had 400-600 ping in the practice tool while testing out my ping. This is all too fishy imo.

By way of an update, after about a week, my speed popped back up to the usual 40ish ms latency. No idea what the problem was. Maybe they had some problems with their lines. I'm glad it's back to the quality I've gotten used to.

You're not alone in this, my ISP is also Comcast. And the last couple of days my ping has been 20 higher than normally.. from 40s to 60s. I'm from the New England area /:

Comcast user here in the northwest, I sit at a steady 90ms usually but the last few nights I am getting spikes into triple or even quadruple digits (4k spike last night). Usually around 5 minutes into the game, then the rest of the game is stable.
